One Punch Man's oldest Genos plotline may have a devastating answer for him and fans

While the One Punch Man manga is focusing on the Ninjas Arc, there is one story arc the manga has yet to finish, i.e., the entire storyline surrounding Genos and The Rampaging Cyborg.

When Genos was 15, the Rampaging Cyborg attacked his town and killed his family. Following that, Dr. Kuseno began looking after Genos and turned him into a cyborg to help him defeat the Rampaging Cyborg that killed his family.

While fans are widely suspicious of Metal Knight or Drive Knight being the culprit, one One Punch Man theory suggests otherwise. Such a development could possibly leave Genos and his fans devastated.

One Punch Man: Dr. Kuseno could be the one responsible for Rampaging Cyborg

According to a theory by One Punch Man fan on Reddit u/Draknor-dragor, ONE and Yusuke Murata could soon pull off a big twist in the series by revealing that Dr. Kuseno was one behind the Rampaging Cyborg.

Considering how Dr. Kuseno has taken care of Genos and helped him become strong, this does sound unlikely, but there's reason to believe the same.

As revealed through Genos and Dr. Kuseno's past, Kuseno found Genos after he was seemingly following the cyborg that had attacked his town.

Given the circumstances, there's a chance that Dr. Kuseno must have made a catastrophic mistake while working on his "masterpiece," (Rampaging Cyborg) following which the cyborg went on a rampage and destroyed town after town.

However, Dr. Kuseno must have never intended for the situation to turn out this way. Hence, when he found Genos injured, he must have decided to look after him to repent or make up for all his wrongdoings.

In doing so, Dr. Kuseno must have also replaced his family's absence with Genos. This is also evident from the events from the original webcomic that saw the doctor reveal his viewed Genos as his grandson.

There is also the chance that the person behind the Rampaging Cyborg was someone from Dr. Kuseno's family, which is why he felt guilty and took in Genos.

Another possible theory is based on the original webcomic events. While the webcomic saw Dr. Kuseno pass away, u/Draknor-dragor theorized that the doctor must have faked his death and died purposefully so that he could push Genos even further to the brink of becoming a literal "Demon Cyborg," one that could rival his "masterpiece" Rampaging Cyborg.

This might be why Dr. Kuseno regularly keeps improving Genos's destructive capabilities and not defensive ones, turning him into a killing machine. Indeed, it has always been Genos who has asked Dr. Kuseno for upgrades. But Kuseno must have known that Genos would do that due to his pursuit to one day defeat the Rampaging Cyborg.

Hence, u/Draknor-dragor believes that Dr. Kuseno must be hiding something or the other. Hopefully, ONE and Yusuke Murata might soon divert the story in that direction.
