Oshi no Ko, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, is a seinen manga series that has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump since April 2020. It was given an anime adaptation by Doga Kobo, premiering in 2023, followed by a second season in 2024.

The anime became an instant hit with its opening theme song "Idol" by Yoasobi reaching 100 million worldwide stream and video views on Spotify and YouTube within the first two weeks from the anime's premiere.

Oshi no Ko follows Aqua and Ruby Hoshino 12 years after the death of their mother late-idol Ai Hoshino. Aqua has been trying to find the person behind his mother's murder, while Ruby has been trying to fulfill her wish of becoming an idol.. The shocking part is that both Aqua and Ruby are reincarnations of Ai's formerly deceased fans.
