With the release of Oshi no Ko chapter 156, the manga series has seemingly begun tying up all loose ends in the manga, one of which was Mem-Cho's age controversy. Mem-Cho had lied that she was 20 years old when she was seven years older in reality. But now, the manga shows her finally dealing with her biggest secret.
The previous chapter saw Aqua and Ruby finish their revenge against their father, Hikaru Kamiki. With that, Aqua finally let go of his suppressed emotions. However, Aqua wasn't done with his revenge, as he switched his target to former B-Komachi idol Fuyuku Niino.

Oshi no Ko chapter 156: Mem-Cho deals with her age controversy
Oshi no Ko chapter 156, titled 'MEMe,' saw Mem-Cho taking Frill Shiranui for a ride in her new car. During this, the manga subtly reminded fans that Mem-Cho was a lot older than she seemed, as she had gotten her driver's license ages ago.
Just as the two girls began their car ride, Frill Shiranui informed Mem-Cho about a tabloid reporter who was after her. She was certain that the person was following Mem-Cho and not her, as she was sure no one was following her before Mem-Cho picked her up. With that, Frill informed Mem-Cho about her skyrocketing popularity and how tabloids target newly popular stars as they are least cautious.
The tabloids hire writers and the writers recruit netizens to get information for them. Hence, given that those people aren't professionals, they often break laws to pry into celebrity's personal lives. Even lodging a report was useless as the law does not safeguard the peace of talents.
Upon learning this, Mem-Cho was left deep in thought over what information on her could cause trouble. The only thing controversial about her was her age which she had lied about. Hence, Mem-Cho was left paranoid, thinking about which person from her past must have leaked the information about her.
Later, when Mem-Cho spoke with Ruby Hoshino, she apologized to her, as her secret could cause trouble for B-Komachi. However, Ruby did not think Mem-Cho needed to apologize, as they were the ones who accepted her into the idol group despite knowing her age.
With that, Ruby expressed that she was impressed by Mem-Cho for her capability to establish herself in the showbiz. Hence, she believed that the YouTuber was smart enough to handle her situation in her own way.
Right after, Oshi no Ko chapter 156 switched to Mem-Cho conducting a live stream. Through that, she apologized to her fans for having lied to them about her real age. She conveyed to her fans that she had lied about her age to get accepted in showbiz and didn't mind if people couldn't forgive her and wished to unsubscribe.
Nevertheless, even if fans do forgive her, she does not want to live a lie. Hence, she announced her new project, "Mem-Cho, a YouTuber whose age is unknown is on her way to becoming a self-proclaimed college girl." With this project, she hoped to clear university entrance exams and earn a true identity. Fans found this funny and supported her in the same. But when they started asking about her real age, Mem-Cho announced that her real age was set to remain a secret forever.
Right after, the manga saw Mem-Cho speaking with Kana Arima. Kana praised Mem-Cho for the way she handled her situation. Now, even if a tabloid were to report her real age, she had already revealed that she had lied about the same to sell herself to her fans. Moreover, Mem-Cho also attained the new attribute "The Age-Unknown Idol YouTuber" and increased her channel's growth. Thus, there was nothing left to worry about.
Mem-Cho herself seemed proud of what she had done, as she stated how, as a buzz queen, she planned to prosper in showbiz by remaining in the gray area of the entertainment industry.
