With the release of Oshi no Ko chapter 165, the manga showcased Aqua Hoshino's funeral, as the protagonist's plan to frame Hikaru Kamiki worked. As expected, the funeral saw the series' characters mourn Aqua, but the ones that stood out amongst them were Kana Arima and Ruby Hoshino.
The previous chapter saw Aqua Hoshino pass away after he drowned deep into the sea. Aqua's plan worked as he successfully killed Hikaru Kamiki without anyone suspecting him of the same. The manga later saw Akane Kurokawa deduce Aqua's plan and mourn him at a seashore.

Oshi no Ko chapter 165: Taishi Gotanda forces the 15-Year Lie movie's release
Oshi no Ko chapter 165, titled And Then, opened with Akane's explanation to Aqua about all that happened after his death. After Hikaru Kamiki passed away, Fuyuko Niino became extremely cooperative and revealed everything there was to know about Hikaru Kamiki. She and Ryosuke weren't the only ones who were instigated by Hikaru. There were way more culprits and victims involved in the mystery than they could imagine.
While Hikaru Kamiki was undeniably a monster, he was only involved in each of the other cases so much that there would not have been enough indiscriminate evidence against him.
With that, Akane was certain that had she asked Aqua to become a decoy, he would have strictly said no. That said, Akane wished that Aqua would leave her a letter. While it made sense to her why Aqua could not write a letter, it could have helped bring closure to the people who were most affected by his death.
Oshi no Ko chapter 165 then switched to Aqua Hoshino's open casket funeral. Just as Kana Arima stood in front of his corpse, she slapped him. The very next instant, Miyako Saitou slapped her in retaliation. However, Kana had slapped Aqua to keep her promise to him.
Kana Arima had previously made a promise with Aqua that she would slap his corpse and curse at him if he were to ever speak of death again. With Aqua having passed away, Kana begged Aqua to keep his promise. She started wailing, begging for Aqua to come back to life. During this, she even professed her love for him and how she could not tell him the same when he was alive.
That said, it wasn't just Kana who was devastated. The manga saw each of Aqua's acquaintances visit the funeral and mourn his death.
Oshi no Ko chapter 165 then switched to the staff meeting of the 15-Year Lie movie. Following Aqua's death, the staff were doubtful if they should release the movie. However, Taishi Gotanda pushed for the movie to be released, threatening them that he would release the movie online if he had to. Hence, Kaburagi Masaya gave the film's release a green light. As expected, following Aqua's death, the movie performed really well.
Oshi no Ko chapter 165 then switched its focus to Ruby Hoshino. She was left devastated after losing another close person in her life. Akane was certain that Ruby would no longer be able to step on the front stage. However, as suggested by the manga, both Kana and Ruby were set to push through their tough time.
