With the release of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 13, Doga Kobo adapted the conclusion to the Private Arc and created an original music video for B-Komachi idol group's "Pop in 2" song, created by Himura.

As manga readers of the series would know, the source material never truly left fans a glimpse of the music video. However, Doga Kobo went above and beyond to create an original song and music video. Not only that, but the same alongside a live-action version was uploaded on Oshi no Ko anime's YouTube channel.

While the music video was really good, Doga Kobo did not create them on a whim. Instead, they put a lot of thought into making the same. This is especially evident from the way they treated Ruby Hoshino's visuals. Everyone must have noted how she possessed black, starry eyes in the video. However, they must have missed out on one key detail that denoted how depressed she was during its filming.

As seen in the Oshi no Ko season 2 finale, animation studio Doga Kobo gave fans an original music video for the new B-Komachi's first song, "Pop in 2." This music video effectively allowed the anime's staff to use the full extent of their creative liberty to create a never-seen-before segment.

This video also showcased Anemone Monemone's skill as a director as she effectively used each of the idol group members' charm in the music video. However, one of them was especially different from the others, and it was Ruby Hoshino.

Unlike Kana Arima and Mem-Cho, Ruby Hoshino's visuals were not "cutesy" but bold and resentful. This is because it was only a day before when Ruby found her crush, Gorou Amamiya's dead body from 16 years ago. Evidently, Anemone used her expressions wisely.

One such scene even saw the camera circularly pan towards Ruby's face while standing at the bank of a shallow river. During the segment, Ruby could be seen conspiringly smiling towards the camera. This must have left fans believing that while Ruby was sad, she was not necessarily depressed as she planned on catching the culprit behind Gorou's murder.

However, during this, most fans must have missed out on the fact that right after Ruby gave her smiling shot, her smile was immediately wiped off her face. This is something common for depressed people as they have a tough time putting on a smile and tend to only do it to please others.

This is why, right after her shot ended, her smile vanished. As for manga readers, they must also know how Ruby has a similar demeanor for a few future story arcs. Unfortunately, anime fans will have to wait sometime before seeing the same.
