Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10: Aqua's connection to Himekawa unfolds with a twist as attention turns to the new B-Komachi

Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10, titled Liberation, aired on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 11:00 pm JST, following a one-week break. After it was shown in the previous installment that Himekawa and Aqua are half-brothers sharing the same father, this episode reveals information about Himekawa's father, Seijuro Uehara.

He explains to Aqua that Seijuuro is their father, revealing how his parents died in a double suicide for love. This twist puts Aqua in a sudden dilemma as his lifelong motive for Ai's murder's revenge seems to have come to a sudden end.

The focus then shifts to the progress of the new B-Komachi, as they work on growing their idol group. Subsequently, the group plans a trip to Miyazaki, Aqua and Ruby's birthplace, to shoot a music video, and Aqua agrees to tag along.

Oshi no Ko season 2, episode 10 begins with Aqua informing Himekawa that they are half-brothers, sharing the same father. Himekawa, considering this possibility, takes Aqua to his home to discuss it further. He inquires about Aqua's mother, but Aqua refuses to reveal, leading Himekawa to deduce that she must have been a celebrity.

He then reveals details about his own mother, Airi Himekawa, and shows Aqua news about his parents, who died in a double suicide out of love when Himekawa was 5 years old. He discloses that his original surname is Uehara, after his father, Seijuuro Uehara.

Himekawa explains that Seijuuro is their shared father, an obscure actor known for his relationships with talented celebrities. Aqua is stunned to learn that the person he had been pursuing for revenge over Ai's death is already deceased. Despite the dark past, Himekawa expresses his happiness at discovering he has a half-brother.

After Aqua returns home in the morning, Ruby scolds him for staying out all night. Aqua explains he stayed at Himekawa's house and promises to introduce him to Ruby.

With his revenge mission now stalled due to the new revelations, Aqua is uncertain about his next steps. After receiving a call from Kana and seeing Akane's texts, he starts to wonder if he's free to pursue a more carefree normal life and pursue happiness.


Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10: The new B-Komachi gears up to grow their fame through several creative strategies

In Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10, the new B-Komachi members discuss their growth and future strategies. Mem-Cho advises Kana and Ruby, who are disappointed with their 20k YouTube subscribers, on the difficulties of the platform and suggests filming room-tour videos to boost views, starting with Kana's room.

Later, Ruby considers removing Ai's posters before shooting the video to keep her past a secret but wonders if that's the right choice. She reflects on her reasons for naming the group "B-Komachi"—to continue Ai's dream and to find Gorou.

A flashback shows young Ruby trying to contact Gorou through the hospital, only to learn of his disappearance. Ruby hopes the name will attract Gorou's attention, believing he might be watching the new B-Komachi at present.

For the next phase of their viewer enhancement plan, Mem-Cho suggests shooting a music video and proposes a three-day trip for filming and sightseeing to celebrate the completion of the Tokyo Blade stageplay. Kana sees this as a chance to spend time with Aqua and asks where they'll go.

Mem-Cho proposes Miyazaki, surprising Ruby since it's their birthplace and the site of their previous lives' deaths. Mem-Cho also suggests creating original songs to boost their views.

Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10 then focuses on the progress of their first new song. Miyako reveals she hired Himura, who previously composed for the original B-Komachi.

Aqua briefly considers connecting with Himura, who might have known Ai, but then his desire for revenge fades with the reminder of their father's death.

As the song is delayed, Himura asks for more time due to a lack of inspiration. As per Ruby's suggestion, the team sends him a video of Ruby expressing her excitement for the song, hoping to inspire him. This successfully motivates Himura to complete the song.


Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10 closing events: Aqua agrees to join the Miyazaki trip as a mysterious girl enters the story

In the final scenes of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10, the Tokyo Blade stageplay comes to an end, leaving Aqua with an empty schedule. Noticing his dejection, Ruby invites him to join the group on their trip to Miyazaki, as suggested by Kana.

Aqua reflects on how he hasn't been to Miyazaki since his death/rebirth, and agrees to go. The episode concludes with a scene in Miyazaki featuring a mysterious girl with white hair who appears to be excited for some unknown reason.
