With the release of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 11, the anime delved into Aqua Hoshino's romantic life. After being free from his revenge plan against his biological father, it was time for him to think about his future and love life. Therefore, the anime episode saw Aqua going out with both Kana and Akane to come to a decision.

However, that wasn't all that happened in the anime episode as it gave fans a first glimpse at Aqua and Ruby's real biological father. With such developments taking place in the anime episode, the animation studio had to make sure to make a brilliant episode, and that's just what they did.

Doga Kobo not only adapted the manga brilliantly but also switched the chronology of events and introduced original scenes to build up intensity for the anime episode's final scene.

Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 11 review: Doga Kobo switches chronology of Kana and Akane's segments

Anime-only watchers may not have realized this, but Doga Kobo switched the chronology of events featuring Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa. In the manga, Aqua first meets with Akane, hoping to end his work relationship with her. It was only later that he went out with Kana for shopping.

But as one could notice, despite both segments being romance-based, they had different tones behind them. While Kana's outing with Aqua left fans giggling, Akane's date with Aqua left fans puzzled over the identity of Aqua and Ruby's real biological father. Evidently, the anime's final scene was set to give fans a glimpse of the real father's appearance.

Therefore, instead of going in the manga chronological order, i.e., Akane-Kana-Ruby segments, Doga Kobo switched it up into Kana-Akane-Ruby segments, essentially building up the intensity for the final scene. This makes it evident how well the animation studio has been adapting the Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari manga.

Even Kana's outing with Aqua was beautifully adapted as the anime entirely focused on Kana's reactions to each of Aqua's moves. While the events themselves were adapted from the manga, the anime enhanced it really well. This segment was capped off with some original scenes as the anime depicted Kana insider her cab and later looking through the pictures on her phone at home.

Doga Kobo adds original scenes to depict Akane's genius

As for Aqua's date with Akane Kurokawa, the anime almost entirely focused on portraying Akane as an angel. She was not only selfless in not minding breaking up with Aqua but also made sure she was of use to him for the duration they dated. Besides that, the anime also did well in portraying her indecisiveness as she herself wasn't certain if she loved Aqua or not.

But the part that truly depicted Doga Kobo's brilliance was in their original scene. Just as Aqua explained to Akane how his biological father had passed away, the animation studio abstractly depicted the same. But this didn't end there as Akane instantly spotted an obvious flaw in the story.

While the manga wasn't able to depict what Akane had realized, the anime did it perfectly by portraying a monster being the one to cause the double suicide and Ai's pregnancy. This scene was truly brilliant as it showcased Akane's genius and what was her train of thought while coming to that conclusion.

Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 11 was truly brilliant as it introduced fans to different new plotlines all in the same episode. The anime introduced a romantic angle between Aqua and Kana, an indecisive angle with Akane, and a terrifying angle with the glimpse of Aqua and Ruby's real biological father.

This just proved how well Doga Kobo was doing in adapting the manga series. With the anime inching toward its end, fans can only hope for the final two episodes to match the intensity brought forward by Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 11.
