With the release of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 12, the anime majorly delved into Aqua and Ruby Hoshino's previous lives as Gorou Amamiya and Sarina Tendouji. As fans must remember, Miyazaki was a special place for both characters as they spent their previous lives in the city.

However, there was one thing that bothered both characters, and that was Gorou Amamiya's whereabouts. In Aqua's case, he was only looking for his corpse, but that wasn't the case for Ruby, as she wished to reunite with her crush.

Unfortunately for her, she reunited with him, but the circumstances couldn't be any worse. The most recent anime episode focused on this reunion and brought it to life by beautifully portraying Gorou and Sarina's past.

As fans must have witnessed in the anime episode, Doga Kobo adapted Gorou Amamiya and Sarina Tendouji's pasts from the manga. While the anime did not change much from the manga, some extra scenes helped elevate the entire episode. This kicked off from the episode's start itself, as Gorou could be seen happily pushing Sarina's wheelchair on the hospital's rooftop.

Following that, the anime focused on Gorou for the first part of the episode through Aqua. During this, the anime gave fans glimpses of Gorou with his fellow staff members and Ai whenever Aqua walked past a location close to his previous self.

All of this was concluded with the reveal of Gorou and Sarina's pasts. This is how the anime revealed the common denominator between the two characters. Both characters did not have parents in the true sense and were later reincarnated into the bodies of Ai's soulless children.

After that, the anime switched to Ruby's perspective. But in her case, the anime did not reveal missing moments from her past but what she desired to do in the future, which in her case was to confess to her crush Gorou Amamiya. To her dismay, Ruby did reunite with Gorou but he was long dead.

Doga Kobo elevated Akane's love for Kana through extra scenes

As fans must know by now, while Akane considered Kana Arima her rival, she was also her fan. This was especially highlighted in the episode through some extra scenes that saw Akane secretly clicking Kana's pictures while she was posing with Ruby.

Moreover, the anime gave fans another glimpse of Akane Kurokawa's previous fangirl moment for Kana. The manga did showcase Akane adoring Kana but the anime made it better by referencing the previous incident that took place during the 2.5D Stage Play.

Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 12 was truly a masterful adaptation of the manga's chapters. Therefore, with the season finale set to air next Sunday, fans must tune in to witness firsthand how the studio plans to end the anime.
