Since the start of the Boruto manga, the Otsutsukis have been a huge talking point in the story. This is because they have been the nucleus of the manga, being the reason behind the emergence of several antagonists.
While the characters have had a huge influence on the series, they are far from the most unique characters. This fact especially comes to light when one compares the characters to Hollows from Bleach.
This may seem like an odd comparison, however, the way Otsutsukis and Hollows behave does suggest that the Boruto manga's characters are simply a copy of the Hollows from the Tite Kubo series.

How are Hollows similar to Otsutsukis in Boruto?
As fans might remember, at the start of the Boruto series, Momoshiki Otsutsuki hadn't arrived on Earth alone but had Kinshiki alongside him. While the two Otsutsukis successfully kidnapped Naruto Uzumaki to extract Kurama's Chakra, they were later met with trouble when Sasuke, Boruto, and the Kage from other villages arrived to stop him.
This development saw Momoshiki decide to absorb Kinishiki's chakra to fight the Shinobi. Hence, he turned Kinshiki into a Chakra fruit and devoured him to gain his chakra. This development proved that the Otsutsukis did not hesitate to cannibalize others to evolve into stronger beings. A similar behavior was observed in the case of Hollows from Bleach.
As fans might remember, Hollows were human souls that had become corrupt after they failed to transfer to Soul Society following their death due to regret or despair. These Hollows are later capable of evolving when their ordinary hearts are no longer capable of sustaining them, at which point, they start devouring other Hollows. This process essentially sees Hollows evolve into Menos.
That said, there are three types of Menos, namely Gillian, Adjuchas, and Vasto Lorde. Both Gillian and Adjuchas can evolve into Adjuchas and Vasto Lorde respectively, by devouring Hollows. As one can deduce, Hollows did not mind indulging in cannibalism as long as it helped them evolve further and become stronger.
This proves that the members of the Otsutsuki clan in Boruto are essentially the same as Hollows from Bleach. The only difference between them is the fact that all Otsutsukis are smart from the get-go, while the Hollows become smarter as they evolve further up the ranks.
That said, by pointing this out, we aren't trying to claim that Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto copied Tite Kubo's work but only point out that the manga creators of the two manga share like minds while creating their respective characters. While the Otsutsukis have a huge influence in the story to this day, the Hollows have seemingly lost their relevance in the series due to stronger enemies like the Quincy.
