Jujutsu Kaisen's Gojo vs Sukuna fight was undeniably one of the most iconic battles in anime and manga in recent years. Despite Gojo’s loss to Sukuna, this fight remains one of the most widely discussed topics within the fandom.
Gojo acknowledged Sukuna as the challenger and himself as the one being challenged, establishing a clear power dynamic. This interaction has sparked numerous discussions, including a fanart depicting Satoru Gojo as a Dark Souls boss, with Sukuna as the challenger, using summons to fight him.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo reimagined as a Dark Souls boss
The Gojo vs Sukuna fight continues to be a topic of debate within the fandom, despite the battle ending in chapter 236. Although the fight concluded almost a year ago, it has sparked ongoing arguments between Gojo and Sukuna fans about the outcome if Mahoraga and the Ten Shadows technique, which Sukuna stole from Megumi, had not been involved.
Recently, an illustrator with the handle @Jeyem1048702 on X shared a fanart of the fight, portraying Gojo as a Dark Souls boss, with Sukuna using two summons in the battle.
While nearly every mention of the Gojo vs Sukuna fight has fueled debates between the two fanbases, this particular fanart has been universally praised by the entire fandom.
Fan reactions to the art
Many fans have speculated that a hypothetical second phase of the boss fight might allow Gojo to unleash a barrage of Black Flashes as well as Hollow Purple. Some fans have also praised this fanart as one of the best Jujutsu Kaisen fan creations in recent times, while expressing how a Soulslike game based on the series would be highly appreciated.
"This has to be the hardest fan art of Jujutsu Kaisen," one fan said.
"A souls like JJK game would go pretty hard tbh. This piece is so tough 🤩," another fan said.
Others have reignited the Gojo vs Sukuna debate, describing Sukuna as the challenger and criticizing him as a "noob" for using summons against Gojo. They argue that Sukuna's use of Mahoraga shows that he didn’t truly defeat Gojo in a fair fight.
"Sukuna really a scrub for using summons." One fan wrote.
">using summons. You didn't beat Gojo." Another fan wrote.
The story confirmed Gojo's death in chapter 236 after Mahoraga helped Sukuna learn how to bypass Infinity. Although many fans have been hoping for Gojo’s return, no such event has occurred so far.
Alleged spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269 depict the return of Yuta and Higuruma, both of whom were presumed dead in earlier chapters. This has led a large portion of the fandom to believe that Gojo’s return might happen in the final few chapters, as the story is expected to conclude in chapter 271.
