One of the most beloved characters in the Public Safety Saga of mangaka Tatsuji Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man series is none other than Power, also known as the Blood Fiend. Being a major supporting character throughout the first 97 chapters of the manga, her presence has been sorely missed following her final appearance in chapter 91.
Likewise, she has been at the center of many fan theories from the Chainsaw Man community thanks to fans wanting to explore every possibility of her return. Further spurring fans on is the contract she made with Denji in chapter 91, which explicitly outlined his terms as reuniting with her (i.e., the new Blood Devil) at some point.
Unfortunately, as the Academy Saga has progressed and many part 1 plotlines have been left in the rearview, fans have given up hope on her returning anytime soon. However, there’s one narrative thread that could bring her back, albeit at the heavy cost of completely reshaping Chainsaw Man part 2’s larger conclusion.
Power’s return may herald the Death Devil’s arrival on Chainsaw Man’s Earth
As Chainsaw Man makes quite obvious, its Four Horsemen Devils are based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse referenced in the Bible. Likewise, the theological text is often a place of inspiration for many fan theories pertaining to the Four Horsemen Devils. As the main, overarching antagonist of the Academy Saga, the Death Devil specifically has had many theories on it crafted around Biblical evidence.
One such theory is the idea that the Death Devil’s appearance on Earth in-series will mark a mass migration of Devils from Hell as they follow Death onto Earth. This is predicated on Revelations 6:8, which describes the rider Death and the fact that “Hell followed with him” as he appeared. This theory asserts that as the scripture says, the Death Devil will arrive with Hell, or in this case, Hell’s Devils, following her.
This could be the key to Power’s return since her death on Earth in Chainsaw Man part 1 would suggest that the Blood Devil reincarnated in Hell for its next life. This would also naturally lead to Denji fulfilling his contract with Power by nature of reuniting with the Blood Devil as he opposes the Death Devil. It would also give Denji further impetus to fight the Death Devil if the Blood Devil is somehow under her control.
However, the price for this return would obviously be humanity’s extinction as a result of the Death Devil’s arrival, bringing about the prophesied Age of Devils. While it’s presumed Denji would stop these events from fully coming to pass, it’s likely that a significant amount of human life will be lost either way.
Nevertheless, it seems to be the most reasonable way for Power to return to the series considering the information fans currently have. One possible alternative is that Denji somehow finds a path to Hell on his own, allowing him to reunite with Power/the Blood Devil without the Death Devil’s appearance.
Final thoughts

However, Power’s return on the whole is a purely speculative topic as of this article’s writing. Beyond the contract she and Denji made together in part 1, the manga has given no major indication that her return is coming anytime soon, let alone at all. Nevertheless, fans remain optimistic that Denji’s beloved sister-figure will one day make a return.
