Ranma ½ episode 1 will air on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 12:55 am JST. There were a lot of rumors of a remake for this legendary Rumiko Takahashi series after the success of another one of her franchises, Urusei Yatsura. MAPPA studio will bring forth the story of Ranma and Akane.
The first episode is very likely to serve as an introduction to the plot, which focuses on how Ranma Saotome and his father got cursed with magical springs, thus making certain types of water turn the former into a woman and the latter into a giant panda. It is also going to feature the character of Akane Tendo, who is going to have an arranged marriage with Ranma, although this is going to be an ordeal for the two of them.

The premise of the series
The story focuses on a young martial artist named Ranma Saotome, who is training in China. One day, he and his father fall on magical springs, which puts curses on them. Now every time that Ranma is exposed to cold water, he turns into a woman and wants to find a way to fix this situation, although he also ends up getting into a lot of trouble because of it.
The situation escalates when it is revealed that Ranma's father had arranged a marriage for him with the patriarch of the Tendo household, with the protagonist having to choose between one of his three daughters. Akane Tendo is ultimately chosen by her own family to be Ranma's fiance but they don't get along and end up in a lot of crazy adventures together, slowly forming a better connection.
The nature of the series is fairly episodic and there is no overarching plot, with the story mostly focusing on the daily lives of Ranma, Akane, and the rest of the cast. People can expect a similar approach to the other Rumiko Takahashi series called Urusei Yatsura, which was remade recently.
What to expect in Ranma ½ episode 1?
As mentioned earlier, there is a good chance that Ranma ½ episode 1 will focus on introducing Ranma and his curse, the family dynamic that Akana has with her family, and the dynamic between the two characters. It is also likely that is going to feature Ranma's first fight with Tatewaki Kuno at the school.
