Ranma ½ episode 3 will air on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 12:55 am JST. The most recent episode has already set the tone for the formula of the series as Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo go to school while having to deal with their arranged marriage. This leads to Ranma having a fight with a student named Tatewaki Kuno, who has a crush on Akane, and naturally, insanity ensues.

However, episode 2 also highlights a bit of the complexity of Akane's issues with men, as evidenced by her crush on Dr. Tofu. Moreover, fans also get to see author Rumiko Takahashi's famous storytelling approach of getting men interested in female Ranma. There are a lot of comedic moments and the insanity that has defined this classic series throughout the years.

The episode starts with Akane Tendo going to school but her sister Nabiki mentions that Ranma Saotome is now going to accompany her since they have an arranged marriage. Genma Saotome also reveals to his son that they will stay at the Tendo household for a while, much to Ranma's overall annoyance since he has problems with Akane and struggles to get along with her.

Eventually, they head to school together but bicker so much that Genma has to step in and he ends up fighting his son, which is mostly set up as comedy. The important part of this is the introduction of Dr. Tofu, who Akane has a crush on, and the fact that a school student set up the rumor that someone could date Akane if they defeated her in combat, leading to tens of students fighting her when she arrives.

The main one, though, is the kendo specialist of the Furinkan School, Tatewaki Kuno, who decides to fight Ranma out of jealousy. They have several combats in this episode, which also includes the protagonist turning into a woman.

There is a moment where Kuno, who originally liked Akane, ends up having a crush on female Ranma without knowing that is the same person. The episode concludes with this declaration which is played for laughs for the most part.

What to expect in Ranma ½ episode 3?

Ranma ½ episode 3 of this MAPPA production is likely going to develop a bit more of Tatewaki Kuno's crush on female Ranma and also a lot more moments between the latter and Akane. Fans can also expect another encounter with Dr. Tofu and the co-protagonist's feelings for her as well as perhaps a hint of Ryoga Hibiki's first appearance in this MAPPA production.
