Ranma ½ episode 9 will air on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 12:55 am JST. The most recent episode featured Azusa Shiratori and Mikado Sanzenin, "The Golden Pair of Kolhotz High School", and their conflict with the protagonists, which involves the former stealing P-Chan and the latter kissing female Ranma against his will.

This episode showed more of Ranma's romantic interest toward Akane since he showed major jealousy, was embarrassed by her seeing him get kissed by another person, and also showed an active desire to kiss her. Ranma ½ episode 9 is likely going to feature the main battle with Azusa and Mikado, and perhaps some hints of the final arc that is going to be adapted this season.

Recap of the previous episode

The most recent episode started with Akane Tendo spending time with her friends and the latter asks her to join the ice skating team.

When she goes to find P-Chan, it turns out that it was stolen by a girl who named him Charlotte, and Akane goes to Ranma to help her find him, running into said girl— whose name is Azusa Shiratori. She is an ice skate dancer and her partner, Mikado Sanzenin, tries to hit on Akane, with Ranma calmly challenging him to a fight.

It turns out that their battle is going to be centered on ice skating and the winner gets P-Chan, but Ranma doesn't know how to skate. He uses his female version to train with Akane as he doesn't want to be seen struggling as a man. As they are practicing, Mikado flirts with female Ranma and kisses her, leading to the latter running away to the bathroom to turn into a man again and get his revenge.

Mikado and Ranma have a dynamic battle, where they both show their fighting abilities, ultimately ending in a draw since they are both left unconscious. Afterwards, the protagonist is at the Tendo household and still seething because of the kiss, with Ryoga Hibiki and Akane's sisters mocking him.

The episode ends with a tender moment as Akane challenges Ranma to kiss her, and while that seems almost bound to happen, the two of them back away at the last moment.

Ranma ½ episode 9 of this MAPPA production is going to show the two protagonists fighting Azusa and Mikado on ice skating. There is also a good chance that Ryoga Hibiki is going to be involved in the conflict, and is also bound to perhaps give a hint or two of Shampoo's arrival for the final episodes of this first season.
