Re:ZERO season 3 episode 3 release date and time, where to watch, and more

Re:ZERO season 3 episode 3 is scheduled to air on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 10.30 pm JST in Japan. It will be broadcast on AT-X, TOKYO MX, and other Japanese television channels. For fans outside Japan, the episode will be available to stream on Crunchyroll shortly after its release.

Episode 2 of Re:ZERO season 3 saw Subaru coming to terms with the events of the first episode, when he was killed along with a whole crowd of people by the Witch Cult's Sin Archbishop of Wrath, Sirius Romanee-Conti, at the Time Tower.

Although Subaru tried to stop the massacre at the Time Tower from happening once again, this time with the help of a powerful ally, the might of the Sin Archbishop of Wrath proved to be too much for them.

Re:ZERO season 3 episode 2 recap

Episode 2 of Re:ZERO season 3, titled The End of Ice and Fire, started with Subaru calming himself down after reviving via his Return by Death ability. However, he soon realized that his reset point this time was just minutes before the Sin Archbishop of Wrath, Sirius Romanee-Conti, massacred him along with the crowd of people at the Time Tower.

While he initially thought about asking Beatrice to accompany him, he decided against it and asked her to stay with Emilia. However, Subaru's decision to face Sirius alone ended in disaster, as he was killed again by the latter, following a brief exchange about fear and other emotions.

After returning once again via Return by Death, Subaru realized that he could not possibly hope to stop Sirius alone, which led to him asking Reinhard van Astrea for help. However, Reinhard arrived a bit late, as Subaru and the crowd had already fallen under Sirius' spell.

Although Reinhard's arrival inspired hope among others since he was able to defeat and subdue Sirius with relative ease, Subaru realized that something was wrong when Reinhard approached Sirius to finish her off. That said, he could not stop the inevitable from happening again, as Sirius' abilities resulted in Subaru and the rest of the crowd being sliced in half alongside her due to Reinhard's strike.

Upon reviving via Return by Death once again, Subaru was disturbed and frustrated that not even Reinhard could stop Sirius. As such, he decided to enlist Beatrice's help this time, as he explained the entire situation to her.

Beatrice suggested using Shamac against Sirius to nullify the effects of her abilities on other people, which would allow the Sin Archbishop of Wrath to be defeated without any casualties.

Following this, Emilia arrived to help Subaru with his fight after being persuaded by Priscilla. Although Subaru tried to convince Emilia to head back and prioritize her safety, the latter clarified her intentions of fighting alongside him.

The episode then featured a fierce battle between Sirius and Emilia towards the end, where the latter not only held her own but also momentarily pushed back the Sin Archbishop of Wrath with her abilities. However, the episode ended with Sirius turning the tide of the battle and pushing Emilia back when Regulus Corneas suddenly appeared to save her and "take her back."

Following the events of episode 2, fans can expect Re:ZERO season 3 episode 3 to feature the aftermath of the battle between Emilia and Sirius Romanee-Conti and the revelation of Regulus Corneas' plans for the former.
