Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 271 finally featured Satoru Gojo, but it was from old times when he was alive, negating every speculation of his return. However, his appearance was also an assurance that the responsibility of protecting the Jujutsu Society was now in the hands of his talented students who are more than capable of leading the society through the teaching of their teachers.

Itadori Yuji matured the most during the final fight against the King of Curses and learned how no matter how strong you might be, there would always come a time when you are destined to fall.

Okkotsu Yuta, on the other hand, was blessed with another chance in life and he, with his learning of jujutsu, could guide the next generation down the right path in life.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 271 featured the last appearance of the Honored One in a flashback from the time when the Jujutsu sorcerers were doing their switch training. Itadori was getting ready to do switch training with Gojo.

However, the Honored One stated that he didn't want to do any more training and wanted to leave everything to Itadori.

Gojo wanted his students to surpass him in Jujutsu if something happened to him in the battle against Ryomen Sukuna. Itadori was surprised by such thinking and considered this behavior of his teacher 'out of character.'

However, Gojo started laughing over this statement and said that this was confidence and the kind he felt for the first time in his life.

Gojo Satoru was also entitled as the strongest sorcerer of the present whose birth changed the perspective of the world. Before his birth, cursed spirits ran amok and didn't fear anyone, however, the birth of Gojo changed everything.

Moreover, during his time as a student in Jujutsu High, he also learned to mature his cursed energy manipulation and become stronger.

However, things changed after he awakened his technique after the first round against Toji and became someone who was undefeatable.

This, automatically, made him the protector of Jujutsu society because Gojo knew that everyone was expecting big things from him. So, he started looking for capable apprentices.

His first apprentice was Okkotsu Yuta, a special-grade sorcerer who was cursed by the Queen of Curses. Gojo introduced him to the new environment of his class where he learned everything about cursed energy manipulation.

He also got over his curse and used Rika as his cursed technique. His performance in the final fight against Sukuna was proof of his growth.

The second was Itadori Yuji, a boy who had no affinity with cursed energy at the start. Gojo slowly taught him everything about cursed energy manipulation while keeping him safe due to Itadori's state as 'the host of Sukuna.'

Itadori was also the one Gojo expected the most from and he delivered according to every expectation and became the reason for Sukuna's demise.

Final thoughts

The fandom soon forgot how it was time for Gojo to stop worrying about the Jujutsu Society as they started demanding his return. Indeed, it was time for him to rest as he had introduced some of the strongest young buds to society who would be great leaders in the future, and the final fight against Sukuna was evidence of this.
