Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4 was confirmed to be under production and set for a 2025 release. The anime, based on Reiji Miyajima's Kanojo, Okarishimasu manga, is under work, according to a tweet posted by the anime's official X account on Friday, July 12, 2024.

The anime announced the production of Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4 alongside a key visual and a trailer comprised of panels taken from the Manga. This season is set to animate the "Hawaii arc". However, no studio or staff have been confirmed yet.

Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4 set to release in 2025

At 12.14 AM JST on Friday, July 12, 2024, the official X handle of the anime revealed that Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4, based on Reiji Miyajima's rom-com manga, is currently at the production stage. However, other than the fact that the season is set to release sometime in 2025, the officials haven't confirmed any other pertinent details, such as the cast, staff, production studio, and others.

The announcement came with a PV and a key visual/poster. The PV, shown in the tweet embedded above, features rough animation of manga panels from the Hawaii Arc of the manga, which Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4 is confirmed to adapt. The PV notably features the characters Chizuru, Asami, and Ruka in swimsuits, along with some significant dialogues from the upcoming arc.

The key visual/poster, as embedded above, shows protagonists Chizuru and Kazuya in their Hawaiian get-up. Chizuru announces the season by holding up four fingers as the supporting cast is drawn around them. This is an original illustration from Mangaka Reiji Miyajima commemorating the production announcement of the anime's fourth season.

Fans of the anime had been losing hope for a sequel, considering the anime's staff had been silent for nearly 10 months since the conclusion of the third season, which was animated by TMS Entertainment. However, the announcement of the Hawaii arc's adaptation has filled them with new vigor. While no additional cast has been confirmed, the previous cast is certain to return to voice their characters.

Since the third installment concluded its run (July 2023 to September 2023), fans have been expecting the news of a sequel to see more of Kazuya, Chizuru, and others. Notably, the previous season covered til chapter 167 of Reiji Miyajima's rom-com manga.

As a result, Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4 will likely begin the adaptation from chapter 168, and showcase Kazuya Kinoshita's intriguing chemistry with Chizuru Ichinose, Ruka Sarashina, Sumi Sakurasawa, and others. Aside from new characters, fans will see the most iconic manga panels brought alive in animation form in the sequel.
