Hunter X Hunter manga's return has been confirmed for October 2024. But its return coincided with the Jujutsu Kaisen ending, leading to fascinating comments within those fandoms. Some have jokingly mentioned that author Gege Akutami's manga has been "sacrificed" for Yoshihiro Togashi's story to return.

There is also the fact that Hunter X Hunter is a series that is heavily connected to Jujutsu Kaisen on a meta-level because Akutami has mentioned time and time again that he is a massive Togashi fan. So, it is interesting to see how one series' conclusion coincides with the return of another.

Yoshihiro Togashi's series will return on October 7, 2024, much to the surprise of people. At the same time, it was confirmed that Gege Akutami's series will only last five more chapters, with the final one being published on September 30.

Some people have jokingly said that one series was sacrificed for the other to return. The two fandoms are usually on good terms since Akutami has mentioned in some volumes of his manga that he was heavily influenced by Togashi, which is shown in his fighting sequences and the detailed battle system he has established.

Furthermore, it provides new content for battle shonen fans since the Jujutsu Kaisen manga ends just after the My Hero Academia manga. Both series were two prominent properties in Shonen Jump for several years, and now they are ending almost at the same time, which will probably leave the magazine with a significant hole to fill.

The Hunter X Hunter manga's return is a big moment for a lot of fans who have many questions regarding Togashi's story. The previous chapters, released in 2022, showed the backstory of the Phantom Troupe and set up Hisoka's return. Hence, many people want to know what will happen next in the manga.

Meanwhile, Jujutsu Kaisen fans want to know how Akutami will end this story in five chapters. This is particularly important, considering that Yuji Itadori's final battle with Ryomen Sukuna has recently begun, and other elements must be concluded before the end.
