A brief snippet from Blue Lock season 2 showcased a moment in the anime that took fans by surprise. Specifically, episode 6 of the new season officially kicked off the much-awaited match between the Blue Lock XI team and the Japan U-20 football team, featuring Itoshi Sae.

It was a moment involving Sae that had fans taken aback in what could be disbelief and/or amazement. During the episode, Sae had a little "Gojo moment", when he was on his way to the match venue. Albeit brief, it took fans no time to catch it and take it to social media. Here's a closer look.

Blue Lock season 2 showcases Sae Itoshi's Gojo moment

Blue Lock season 2 did not start off on a very promising note. Many were left displeased with how the animation was done this time around, considering how well the first season went. However, with the big game against Japan U-20s, the show might just be saved.

Anyhow, a little moment in Blue Lock season 2 episode 6, there was a brief montage featuring Team Blue Lock preparing themselves on game day. In between, Sae was shown in his car being driven to the venue.

He was relaxing with a black eyemask over his eyes. Presumably getting closer, he lifted the right side of the eyemask in a Gojo-esque fashion and revealed a Teal-coloured eye. This little moment was heavily reminiscent of Gojo Satoru and his signature eyemask. On multiple occasions, Gojo has done the exact same, lifting it to unleash brilliant Jujutsu.

Needless to mention, this moment thrilled fans as they were quick to take to social media to beat the Gojo revival drum. Quite understandable, given how many expected Gojo to return to Jujutsu Kaisen, but it did not end up happening. As such, many were further distressed when they learned his ultimate fate as a weapon and even in death, not being allowed to rest peacefully.

"GOJO LIVES" - a user exclaimed.

This "Gojo moment" brought out resounding exclamations from anime and manga lovers. As mentioned, Gojo's fate in Jujutsu Kaisen was unfortunate and many were extremely hopeful for him to make a return. Moreover, nearly all the characters previously presumed dead had returned, albeit with injuries. But by the end, Gojo was declared deceased.

"he's prettier than gojo" - a fan commented.

Some fans began to compare the two characters on the basis of physical appearance. They felt that Sae was designed better and was "prettier" than Gojo. Again, this is purely subjective to each and every single person who watches either of the shows. But undoubtedly, Sae's character has been designed quite well with regard to facial features, hair color, etc.

"He’s voiced by getos VA" - a netizen informed.

A fan pointed out that Sae Itoshi's voice actor was the same individual who voiced Jujutsu Kaisen's Suguru Geto, i.e., Takahiro Sakurai. This is quite coincidental considering the relationship between Gojo and Geto. Fans of the series are no strangers to the Gojo-Geto duo and their tragic history. So it is quite intriguing that the character voiced by Geto's VA is being linked to Gojo.

"I knew gojo was going to come back one day" - an X user wrote.

Finally, Gojo fans rejoiced as they finally got another glimpse of their favorite character. Though it is in a different anime, it is still Gojo-esque and offers a major throwback to a popular character. Blue Lock season 2 might have added such a scene intentionally or unintentionally, but whatever the case may be, it looked to be a great gesture.
