Yuto Suzuki's Sakamoto Days stands out as one of the best action manga currently being published, with fans eagerly waiting for it to get an anime adaptation. The upcoming Sakamoto Days chapter 163 is set to be released as per the following schedule:
Sakamoto Days chapter 162 recap
In the previous chapter, Sakamoto was seen making his way to the underground special exhibitions vault. It was taking him a long time because of the long, spiraling stairway. His mind was occupied with a recent discussion he had with Wutang, who had confirmed that Uzuki had multiple identity disorders.
It was likely that Uzuki had adopted Akao's persona as a coping mechanism in response to enduring high levels of stress or repeated traumatic experiences.
The chapter then shifted to Uzuki, who was now under the influence of Akao's personality. He greeted Nagumo, leaving him bewildered. Uzuki mocked Nagumo for failing to recognize his friend Akao despite being from a well-known spy family.
Then Uzuki began looking around for Sakamoto while recounting their encounter in Thailand and how he was surprised to learn that Sakamoto had settled down.
Asaki, growing restless, ordered Nagumo to kill Akao. He was confused as to why Akao was now inside Uzuki, given he had witnessed her dying. However, Sakamoto landed on him and knocked him out.
Nagumo questioned Uzuki about his true identity and learned that Akao was a construct of Uzuki's memory, created to protect him. This is why she could not bring herself to kill him and had placed a bounty on Sakamoto's head, hoping he would end Uzuki's life. Nagumo was her backup plan.
Uzuki, as Akao, then mocked Nagumo for thinking that he had pierced his heart when he had stabbed the wrong side.
Suddenly, the vault was filled with fire extinguisher gas. However, they managed to escape through the hole Sakamoto had created in the ceiling upon his arrival. Initially, the hole was too small for everyone, but Sakamoto made it bigger during their escape, which led to a burst of laughter from Nagumo and Uzuki.
Finally, they noticed that the emergency exit door was open and its handle was cleanly cut into two.
What to expect from Sakamoto Days chapter 163 (speculative)
In Sakamoto Days chapter 163, readers are likely to see Uzuki, Sakamoto, and Nagumo making an escape. As long as Uzuki is acting as Akao, he will not be a problem, and he may not even be concerned with carrying out his assassination of Asaki.
Readers may also see the return of Takamura, the old man who is a member of the Order and a master of the katana. He is likely to attack Uzuki, but it is unclear how Sakamoto and Nagumo would react.
