In the previous chapter of Sakamoto Days, Takamura, with a disdainful tone, expressed his belief that the world is teeming with individuals who do not deserve to live. Haruma, in an attempt to protect Uzuki, was dismembered.

As Takamura advanced towards Uzuki, Sakamoto and Nagumo flanked the old man, one with a bench, the other with his staff. However, they were uncertain whether they would be able to sustain the battle given their injuries. They were blocked and cast aside easily.

Gaku jumped right in, armed with his mace. When Takamura attempted to stab his face with his katana, Gaku caught the blade in his mouth and broke off the tip. He then seized Takamura by the collar and used the fragment of the blade to slash his face, taking out his right eye. Gaku was stabbed in the heart in turn.

With his damaged blade, Takamura then attacked Sakamoto and Nagumo, who were paralyzed by the old man's prowess. As they fell, they were convinced that their situation was hopeless and that Takamura was invincible.

As Takamura continued towards Uzuki, Uzuki was flooded with memories of his time with Gaku, Haruma, and the rest of the Al-Kamar orphanage group. He also remembered Rion and fell to his knees, clutching his head and screaming in despair. He questioned why he always had to lose his family. Next, it appeared as though he began hearing voices in his head.

In the blink of an eye, Takamura, who was planning to cut Uzuki up, found himself without his katana and split in half, just like he had done to Gaku. The one responsible for this was none other than Uzuki. Overwhelmed by stress, he had developed a new persona, that of Takamura. Sakamoto and Nagumo stood by, watching in disbelief.

What to expect from Sakamoto Days chapter 168 (speculative)

The death of Gaku and Haruma, two of his closest friends, has been a huge shock for Uzuki. Although he has avenged their deaths by killing Takamura, it remains to be seen what the consequences of his new personality are.

The Rion personality wanted Sakamoto and Nagumo to kill Uzuki, but Takamura’s personality is formidable and might not allow for the same. Moreover, Takamura and Rion may not be the only personalities he creates, as each time he is pushed close to death, he may be able to discover another way of surviving.

Readers will also want the attention to shift back to Asaki in Sakamoto Days chapter 168, whose assassination plot resulted in so many deaths.
