Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin episode 2 is slated to be released on July 13, 2024. It is the anime adaptation of the ARPG game of the same name, which is the second game developed by Edelweiss.

Episode 2 will mainly focus on revealing the land of the demons along with the measures that Sakuna will have to take in order to cultivate it. It will also adapt the actual methods and procedures that Sakuna will undergo to become a truly respectable goddess.

Brief recap of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin episode 1

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin episode 1 begins with Sakuna standing in a rice field, reminiscing about her parents. However, it is soon revealed that it was just a dream triggered by Sakuna being drunk. Sakuna is then informed that the Bridge of Heaven, which connects the realms of humans and the gods, has appeared and a few humans have already crossed it.

Sakuna soon finds herself on the bridge amidst a confrontation with the humans who had crossed over. She swiftly dispatches one of them by kicking off the bridge and tells the others to turn back and not cross the bridge.

Later in the episode, Sakuna and the other gods are visited by the head goddess, Lady Kamuhitsuki, who appoints Sakuna in charge of the yearly duties, much to the other gods' dismay. It is revealed that Sakuna is somewhat looked down upon by the other gods because they need to cultivate their own rice for offerings, while Sakuna simply offers rice cultivated by her missing parents and easily gets the duties.

All of Sakuna's rice is later burnt in an accident caused by the humans she had previously encountered. Following this, Sakuna is banished to the land of the demons to cultivate it.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin episode 2: What to expect?

Episode 2 will be a rather chaotic one, depicting Sakuna and the humans finally reaching the land of the demons and the former starting her journey toward becoming a respectable goddess. The production quality of episode 1 has managed to raise the expectations among the fans, especially since P.A. Works has previously worked on Buddy Daddies as well as Charlotte.
