The Senpai Is an Otokonoko television anime series that focuses on a central trio of high school students named Makoto Hanaoka, Saki Aoi, and Ryuji Taiga. Protagonist Matoko is a young man who dresses like a woman despite disapproval from his mother. Saki is one of Makoto’s classmates and falls in love with him under the initial belief that Makoto is a woman given his appearance.

Saki only learns the truth after getting rejected, which in turn leads to the revelation that she is bisexual. Likewise, she doesn’t care what gender Makoto is and still wishes to be his first love regardless of these awkward beginnings for the pair.
