As fans might remember, with the release of Kagurabachi volume 3, Naruto and Boruto creator Masashi Kishimoto recommended the Takeru Hokazono series to manga readers. Unfortunately, this positive connection seemingly did not last long as a Dark Kana publisher announcement at Japan Expo 2024 in France received a lot of criticism.

To make matters worse, Kana had already announced that they were set to bring Masashi Kishimoto and Miki Ikemoto to the Kana event in France in August. Hence, fans now wish for the Naruto and Boruto creators to not give the publisher a second of their time by showing up at the event.

How did Kana disrespect Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto in France?

For fans who are unaware, Kana is a publishing company that publishes manga in French. They had seemingly succeeded in inviting Naruto and Boruto creators Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto to the Kana event in France in August 2024.

Hence, they placed a lot of banners to promote the series at Japan Expo 2024. However, the company also wanted to put up banners for the Kagurabachi manga series as they had acquired it and were set to release it in France in February 2025.

In this endeavor, Kana put up the banners for the Takeru Hokazono series right on top of the Naruto and Boruto series banners. While the company may not have intended to insult Mashashi Kishimoto's works, fans disagreed.

How fans reacted to the Kagurabachi banner placements

Fans were livid at Kana for the way they treated Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto's works at the Japan Expo 2024. This action was especially revolting to them as Kana had invited the creators to France at the Kana event in August.

Several netizens believe the publishing company disrespected the two series by covering them with Kagurabachi banners.

"Did you really think that was a good idea? Kishimoto disrespect is crazy," one fan said.
"Lmao we rather not getting new interview than disrespect the two people you guys wanna invite just for "that"," another said.

Some fans even tried to be reasonable, saying that Kana could have handled this situation better. They said the publishing company could have either put up the banners somewhere else or removed the Kishimoto and Ikemoto series banners before putting up the Kagurabachi banners. But covering them up was out of the question.

Other fans mentioned how Kishimoto had recently recommended the Kagurabachi series to his readers. Thus, treating the manga creator's series in such a way was completely unnecessary.

"This is plain disrespectful NGL it could have been placed elsewhere or better still remove the Naruto and Boruto banner before putting it," another fan said.
"That was unnecessary.. to cover the banner like that, whats the goal? The new volume just getting a recommendation by Kishimoto himself. Well its not Bachis fans or the author's fault. Its people behind the scenes that come up with something like that..," other fan said.

Some fans even started targeting the Kagurabachi manga series, hoping the Takeru Hokazono series would get axed one day. In addition, they wished for Kishimoto to not go to France as a response to Kana's actions.

"I hope Kagurabachi gets axed one day and that Kishimoto never gives you people a second of his time," other said.

This incident caused Naruto fans to go after the Takeru Hokazono series, even though neither he nor his fans were at fault.
