Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 came out on October 20, 2024, at 5:30 pm JST, and concluded the latest arc as Sunraku and his party finally found the object they were looking for. Moreover, it was in this episode that Sunraku finally reunited with Oikatzo and Arthur Pencilgon, while also showing them fighting together for the first time since they dealt with Wezaemon.
It is also worth pointing out that while Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 didn't have a lot of events, it was a significant transition to move forward to another arc. This episode also established what other factions were doing in the game and continued with the already developed formula of the series— something that is going to be divisive to fans during the second season of this C2C production.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 review: A transition episode that keeps the series' classic formula
Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 review: Great visuals in a somewhat short episode
While Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 was as long as other episodes of the series thus far with some minor battle scenes, it didn't have a lot of events taking place, which might be divisive to some people.
Not a lot happens, and the bulk of the episode was focused on Sunraku getting back together with Arthur Pencilgon and Oikatzo, with them fighting as a team for the first time since the now-memorable Wezaemon conflict.
Ironically, some of these scenes were pivotal for the plot moving forward, which is something that makes this episode quite important. Elements such as finding the object for Bilac to use, the reunion of the Wolfgang clan, information on Psyger-0 and her clan, and the return of Animalia are more than enough to move the story forward.
Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 review: Fun character interactions continue to be a mainstay
Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 keeps up its characteristic silly humor, which is shown through the reunion that Sunraku has with the characters of Oikatzo and Pencilgon. As mentioned earlier, this is a major element of the series and is something that is going to be divisive to people.
However, it is also worth pointing out that if people are watching the second season, it is likely this is something most people in the audience are enjoying.
Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 review: A decent end of an arc and the beginning of a new one
As mentioned earlier, this episode had a major contribution in terms of plot development and established the main plot beats for the next arc.
In that regard, the episode's biggest contribution is moving the plot forward and seeing the Wolfgang clan fight together again, but it is fair to say that this is not going down as one of the best in the series.
Final thoughts
Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 continues with the series' now-established formula while also having its classic sense of humor.
On the other hand, while it wasn't the most dynamic of episodes, it served to end this current arc and further establish the beginning of the next one.
