Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 has been released, and the main focus was how Sunraku reunited with Arthur Pencilgon and Oikatzo. They were his main help during the fight against Wezaemon last season, and haven't fought together ever since, which was covered in this recent episode as they faced a gatekeeper in the secret place they were in.

It is also worth pointing out that Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 represented the end of this arc as the party found the material Bilac needed to work as a specialized blacksmith. There was also some new information regarding what other clans were doing at the moment, their requests to meet Sunraku and the return of Animalia, which could potentially start a new arc this season.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2: Oikatzo and Pencilgon reunite with Sunraku's party

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 starts with Sunraku and his party attempting to go underground in the secret place they found in the previous episode. However, the characters of Oikatzo and Arthur Pencilgon reunited with the protagonist, as hinted in the latest episode, and the two of them were angry with him for ignoring their emails.

After a bit of bickering, the two characters decide to help Sunraku and his party, which leads to using Oikatzo's ropes to go down into the secret place. As they enter, they find out that the place looks quite technological and the entrance is guarded by a special golem who has an armor that is quite similar to the one that Wezaemon wore during their battle.

This moment in Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 is the first time that Sunraku, Oikatzo, and Pencilgon fought together since the Wezaemon arc. They made quick work with the golem, thanks to their attacks and the combination of the rest of the members of the party.

The party entered the lab that the golem was protecting, due to one of Oikatzo's special abilities as Pencilgon, and Sunraku remembered some of the biggest threats the latter had to go through in other games. Eventually, they enter and Emul discovers the object they were looking for, which was displayed as a comedy of sorts.

The remainder of the episode was focused on the Wolfgang clan catching up to what was happening after the events of the Wezaemon battle, such as the leaders of the Schwarzer Wolf clan, Psyger-0 and Psyger-100, wanting to reach out to Sunraku. As Aramis and Bilac return to Rabituza to work on the material, Sunraku and Emul are cornered by Animalia and her clan.

Final thoughts

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 2 finished the quest that started at the tail end of the previous season, as Sunraku and his party found what they were looking for.

Moreover, this episode also established some of the events that other clans are engaged in at the moment and reintroduced the character of Animalia, who seems bound to have a role to play in the coming arc.
