Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4: Sunraku challenges the Crystal Scorpions once again

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4 is out, and the main focus of the episode was how Sunraku came out with his own plan after his clan reunited with the other three groups. When considering that he is still bidding his time for Bilac to iron out the new weapons for him, he decides to try his luck against the Crystal Scorpions once again, which comes with some unexpected results.

It is also worth pointing out that Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4 could be considered a transition of sorts since the protagonist's mission is yet to be fully established. However, this episode was also good to show how far he has come and how he has a better grasp of the Crystal Scorpions.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4: A clan alliance is made and Sunraku makes his own plans

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4 starts where the previous one left off as Arthur Pencilgon makes the proposal for the four present clans to join, to which they all agree. Afterward, Pencilgon mentions that while the clans might discover some things regarding Rabituza and Bahamut, they still have the upper hand and want to stay that way.

The Wolfgang separates but Sunraku decides to try his luck against the Crystal Scorpions once again since he hasn't leveled up since the battle against Wezaemon.

He initially uses his old tactic of teleporting himself to Inventoria at the moment the creatures clash so they destroy themselves, but when he comes back, he realizes there are no leftovers of them and gets killed without realizing it.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4 then to real life where Sunraku is extremely angry because he has just realized that the developers of the game came up with tweaks for the Crystal Scorpions' AI. This bothers him a lot but as he sees a drink of his fall to the ground, he realizes that he can use gravity as a way to get the upper hand.

Sunraku decides that the Crystal Scorpions are offering different types of threats so he goes back to Rabituza where he meets Emul and they talk for a bit. The most important is that he got money from an item he got in the previous arc through one of Emul's merchant siblings and Bilac promised him to make special weapons if he managed to get more material from the Crystal Scorpions.

While he is no longer with the Wolfgang clan for this mission, Sunraku goes to fight with the creatures once again and manages to get the upper hand for the most part.

A key part of this clash is that he manages to drag them off a cliff thanks to the sheer pressure of their movement, with the episode ending with the creatures falling and him enjoying his victory.

Final thoughts

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 4 didn't move the plot forward in a very meaningful way but it shows how the game evolves as time goes by and how Sunraku has evolved as a fighter. Furthermore, this event is very likely to show Bilac giving him unique weapons to fight with.
