Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 270, titled "The End of the Dream," was released on September 22, 2024. The chapter had an epilogue-like tone, with both the main and supporting cast going around resolving various minor issues set up in previous arcs.

Despite this, the chapter maintained a mysterious atmosphere with a lingering sense of dread. A few dialogues from Maki regarding Yuji and Hana’s course of action implied that there might be a part 2.

Jujutsu Kaisen part 2 is nearly inevitable

The Jujutsu Kaisen series will conclude with chapter 271, leaving the possibility of a continuation still unclear. While chapter 270 was expected to resolve many doubts regarding the status of Gojo’s body, it instead focused on revealing the condition of post-Culling Games Japan.

It was revealed that the main cast might have to confront the American government to retrieve the abducted sorcerers. This, along with Gakuganji’s ominous dialogue about the impending collapse of Tengen’s barriers around Japan, has led many fans to believe that Gege might be setting up a plot for part 2 of the series.

Fan reaction to chapter 270

Many fans have mentioned that Gege Akutami might be compelled to continue the story despite his initial plan for it. It is a widely held view that the series is currently too popular and profitable to simply end.

Given its current status as one of the most trending and actively followed stories worldwide, a spin-off or direct sequel is almost guaranteed once the series concludes. A few fans also speculated that Gojo’s absence throughout the series might become a running gag, possibly extending into a hypothetical part 2.

"JJK is currently too popular to end. MHA is different case cuz it overstayed it's welcome, JJK is getting a spin-off or a direct sequel. No way the management is going to let this series just end like that." Another fan claimed.
"It would be FUNNY ASF if he writes a part two and STILL doesn’t bring back gojo ☠️," One fan said.

Some fans used this opportunity to express dissatisfaction with the reception of the last few chapters, speculating that this could be due to Gege setting up a potential part 2. Sukuna's unexplored origins and his entire journey throughout the Heian Era remain one of the most likely settings for a potential spin-off that could become a reality after the conclusion of the main series.

"when the ending of jjk is a** ucuz gege had to use it as a jumping off point for jjk part 2." Another fan said.
"Gege after dropping hints for JJK part 2 when people thought they ain't gonna see this man again," One fan wrote.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 271, set to be released on September 29, 2024, will be the final chapter of the series. It has been revealed that chapter 271 will be followed by several "surprising" announcements. While it is unclear whether these announcements will pertain to an additional project or a popularity poll.
