Anime characters have exhibited overpowered abilities since the inception of the medium. Characters like Vegeta, Goku, and Saitama have become regular names in power-scaling discussions. Sung Jin-woo from Solo Leveling recently joined the ranks of popular overpowered anime characters due to the series receiving an anime adaptation.

While the series has established Sung Jin-woo's infinite potential for growth, and the source material shows him achieving enough power to defeat Antares, many fans wonder about other anime characters who could possibly defeat Sung Jin-woo. By considering characters in their strongest forms and their established feats, it is possible to list characters who can easily defeat Sung Jin-woo.

Disclaimer- This article contains spoilers for Bleach, One Punch Man, Dragon Ball, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fate, God of Highschool, The Misfit of Demon Academy, and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K series.

Aizen, Saitama, Goku, and 5 other anime characters who could crush Sung Jin-woo

1) Aizen (Bleach)

Sung Jin-woo, towards the very end of the series, has been established to have power enough to shake and even destroy a planet. While there are no actual feats, depicting him destroying a planet or anything of such level, his battle against the Monarch of Destruction, Antares, has previously managed to shake continents all over the Earth. This, along with his humongous army of shadow soldiers, gives him a huge advantage over Aizen in every shape or form.

But Aizen’s power towards the end of the Bleach story has also been established to be on a similar level, strong enough to affect the entire Soul Society. Given Aizen’s status as one of the smartest anime characters and his habit of hyperspecific planning, he is likely to come up with plans to neutralize some of the abilities that Sung Jin-woo has.

Above all, Sung Jin-woo might just not be able to survive being exposed to Aizen’s spiritual pressure since he has not established any kind of soul manipulation or instant healing abilities. Above all, Aizen’s simple yet effective shikai, Kyouka Suigetsu, can manipulate all of Sung Jin-woo’s senses he doesn't have any counter to it whatsoever.

2) Saitama (One Punch Man)

Saitama from One Punch Man is inarguably one of the most well-known “overpowered” anime characters to come out in the last decade. While Sung Jin-woo has been established to be able to travel through dimensions, none of his feats include having firepower enough to destroy an entire planet in a single attack.

In a match between him and Saitama, the latter would likely win due to his sheer exponential growth against opponents and because Saitama is already strong enough to break planets with single attacks in the story.

3) Goku (Dragon Ball)

Goku has been one of the mainstay characters of power scaling discussions to the point that it has become a ritual to power scale any character against Goku. Goku has already been established to have infinite growth potential and surpasses Sung Jin-woo in raw power, speed, and battle experience.

While Sung Jin-woo also has infinite potential via his leveling system, Sung Jin-woo cannot use it in the heat of battle, while Goku’s “Infinite Saiyan potential” is more akin to Saitama’s exponential growth. While Sung Jin-woo vs. Goku would be a rather tough battle, Goku will likely win since his growth potential essentially acts as a cheat code to beat any strong opponents.

4) Giorno (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)

While Giorno’s overall power level and destructive capabilities, along with his battle IQ and battle experience, are all lower when compared to Sung Jin-woo, Giorno’s full-powered stand, Gold Experience Requiem, simply outmatches anything Sung Jin-woo could possibly do.

Giorno’s Gold Experience Requiem is an undo switch on any actions or attacks, and its autonomous nature prevents Giorno from getting overwhelmed by Sung Jin-woo’s speed. Essentially, even if Sung Jin-woo manages to wound Giorno, Gold Experience Requiem will make it so that the entire situation never happens while trapping Sung Jin-woo in an infinite loop of dying.

5) Gilgamesh (Fate)

Gilgamesh is one of the most famous characters to come out of the Fate franchise, due to his sheer charisma and overwhelming belief in himself. While Gilgamesh himself can’t destroy planets or universes, he has access to every weapon that exists or its original concept due to having the Gate of Babylon.

While the anime has not established Gilgamesh to have destroyed planets in the Fate universe, it is due to the fact that the main planet, Earth, is protected by several spells and mystic entities in that universe. But Gilgamesh’s weapon “Ea” has already been established to be able to wipe out realities.

This, along with the fact that Gilgamesh has access to a near-infinite amount of any weapon possible, makes it highly possible for him to beat Sung Jin-woo in a battle. Gil is also one of the few overpowered anime characters that have actual fully functional future sight abilities and enough intellect to complement it.

6) Anos Voldigoad (The Misfit of Demon King Academy)

Anos Voldigoad is yet another powerful anime character that has gained popularity in the last decade due to the airing of his anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy. The anime itself has established him to be very powerful via feats of stopping time, reviving someone repeatedly, and being able to recreate entire bodies for a soul.

But his strongest ability lies with his sword, which lets him do anything, including the manipulation of the laws of causality and effect. Anos Voldigoad is one of the few anime characters that have overpowered abilities similar to Giorno’s Gold Experience Requiem. In a match between Anos and Sung Jin-woo, Anos will win every time.

7) Jin Mori (God of High School)

While Jin Mori from the God of High School anime has been depicted as a supernatural martial artist, his full-powered version has displayed feats like pulling and overlapping entire dimensions along with spacetime warping via his sheer strength alone.

This, along with the fact that Jin Mori is just Sun Wukong, similar to Goku, and his feats showing more destructive capabilities than Sung Jin-woo, makes him one of the few anime characters that can beat Sung Jin-woo.

8) Saiki (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.)

While Saiki is a slice-of-life character, he has already been established as an omnipotent, godlike being in the universe. Saiki’s abilities range from teleportation and clairvoyance to infinite cloning, unrestricted time travel, and genetic manipulation.

Although Saiki might not have as many impressive feats compared to other “overpowered” anime characters, his status as a gag character and his previous feats of super strength, which can be multiplied by infinite clones of himself, make it clear that Saiki would win against Sung Jin-woo.

As one of the most overpowered gag anime characters with the ability to think any object, phenomenon, or outcome into existence, Saiki is the clear winner.
