Jujutsu Kaisen manga has been majorly focusing on the fight between Ryomen Sukuna and the Jujutsu Sorcerers in the 'Shinjuku Showdown Arc.' Due to this, there is one major storyline that the series has managed to make meaningless over time, i.e., the entire storyline surrounding Tsumiki Fushiguro and Yorozu.

While both characters had passed away, the Kamutoke cursed tool could have kept their storylines alive. Unfortunately, Sukuna losing the tool meant that neither of the storylines might get finished later. So, how does Kamutoke's disappearance make Tsumiki and Yorozu's storyline meaningless?

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why does Sukuna discarding Kamutoke make Tsumiki and Yorozu's storylines meaningless?

As fans would know, Tsumiki Fushiguro is Megumi's step-sister, who was cursed and fell into a coma. Nevertheless, when Kenjaku initiated the Culling Game, he happened to choose her to be part of it and had Yorozu, a girl obsessed with Sukuna from the Heian period, get incarnated into her body.

Upon returning to the world of the living after a millennium, Yorozu wished to be helpful to the person she loved, Ryomen Sukuna. Hence, using her Innate Construction technique and a Binding Vow, Yorozu replicated Sukuna's Kamutoke from the Heian period and had Uraume deliver the cursed tool to the King of Curses after he defeated Satoru Gojo.

Upon receiving the Kamutoke, Sukuna used it against Hajime Kashimo and Mei Mei's Bird Strike. Unfortunately, later when Hiromi Higuruma activated his Domain Expansion Deadly Sentencing, the replicated Kamutoke was confiscated. The surprising part was that even after Huguruma's death, the cursed tool did not return to Sukuna.

With that, it can be confirmed that Ryomen Sukuna essentially lost the Kamutoke cursed tool when he was caught in Higuruma's Domain.

Due to the developments that took place during Sukuna's fight against Yorozu, it seemed like the Kamutoke was set to have quite some significance. Unfortunately, the cursed tool was near-useless against Hajime Kashimo and could only be used as a decoy. As for the fight against Higuruma, the cursed tool was utterly useless as it got confiscated immediately.

The only thing the cursed tool's presence established was the fight between Uraume and Kinji Hakari.

Following the cursed tool's disappearance, it became quite ironic that Yorozu's last words to Sukuna were for him to cherish and think of the Kamutoke as her. Unsurprisingly, Sukuna did not care about Yorozu and was unfazed when the Kamutoke went missing.

Hence, with the cursed tool's disappearance, the entire storyline of how Yorozu returned to Sukuna after getting incarnated in Tsumiki's body became meaningless. Had the cursed tool not gone missing, the manga could have possibly brought back Tsumiki and Yorozu through some form of astral scene, allowing either Megumi or Sukuna to speak to either of them.

Such a scene could have seen the series finish the characters' stories. However, as evident from the developments, the storylines surrounding Tsumiki and Yorozu will be discarded.
