After Angel hit Sukuna with the Maximum Output of her Jacob's Ladder technique in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264, many assumed that this would likely be the final nail in the coffin for the King of Curses.
However, Gege Akutami shocked the readers once again, this time by having Sukuna not only escape the Jacob's Ladder technique but also taking Hana Kurusu out of the equation immediately by hitting her and Todo with a devastating Black Flash.
This development fueled the "plot armor" allegations against Sukuna once again, as fans were apparently tired of seeing the King of Curses consistently and narrowly escaping defeat, despite clearly having one foot in the grave.
Why do Jujutsu Kaisen fans accuse Sukuna of having "plot armor"?
Sukuna managing to escape death over and over again in the recent chapters of the manga certainly didn't mark the first time that a Jujutsu Kaisen antagonist got accused of having "plot armor." In fact, fans had this issue with Kenjaku as well, that is, until he met his end at the hands of Yuta Okkotsu.
Ever since Sukuna managed to defeat and kill Satoru Gojo, a lot of fans expressed that they weren't fond of how the King of Curses fought and emerged victorious in his battles.
There have been several times in the past few chapters of the manga where Sukuna managed to defy all odds and survive the onslaught from the Jujutsu Tech sorcerers, which some fans attributed to him having plot armor instead of actually being strong and skilled at Jujutsu sorcery. Sukuna surviving Angel's Jacob's Ladder and immediately attacking her is the latest example of the fans' claim.
Plot armor refers to guaranteed security from perilous situations that the main characters of a story usually have since their safety is essential for the plot to continue. As mentioned before, fans have been claiming for a long time that instead of the protagonists, all the antagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen are granted the privilege of having plot armor, seeing as to how they usually manage to survive dangerous situations, which is something that cannot be often said for the protagonists.

However, there have also been other fans who have refuted the claim of Sukuna having plot armor time and time again. According to them, Sukuna surviving all of the Jujutsu sorcerer's strongest attacks isn't because of plot armor but rather due to his own strength, knowledge, and proficiency in Jujutsu sorcery.
Throughout the series, Sukuna has been hailed as the strongest sorcerer in history and the undisputed King of Curses, and fans are now starting to see why. Apart from his inherent strength and speed, superhuman endurance, and fighting capabilities, Sukuna possesses unmatched skills and knowledge of Jujutsu sorcery. In fact, his extensive knowledge allows him to find loopholes even in Binding Vows and turn any situation in his favor.
After taking all this into consideration, it should be clear as a day that Sukuna is by far the strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen. In his battle against Satoru Gojo, Sukuna proved that being the strongest doesn't necessarily mean having an extraordinary amount of strength or powerful cursed techniques. At the end, his knowledge and experience in sorcery prevailed over Gojo's raw power and potential.
How fans reacted to Sukuna evading Angel's Maximum Output Jacob's Ladder
Fans took issue with Sukuna effortlessly escaping Angel's Maximum Output Jacob's Ladder, since the last time that she used the technique on him, the King of Curses was almost stripped from Megumi's body and was gravely injured in the process.
This time, however, Akutami explained that Sukuna managed to escape certain death from this technique since Angel's vessel, Hana Kurusu, was in a much weaker state than before, which in turn affected the technique's efficiency. However, fans on social media reignitied the plot armor allegations against Sukuna, claiming that the King of Curses shouldn't have survived the attack, especially since he was arguably in a much worse state than Hana.
"The domain expansion binding vow is stupid and taking no damage for Jacob’s latter is just plot armor," said one fan.
"Gege giving sukuna the heaviest plot armor each chapter," another fan claimed.
"Bruh, can't believe sukuna got more plot armor than Yuji," another chimed in.
On the other hand, many fans stepped up to defend Sukuna, claiming that his surviving everything so far is merely due to his own strength and skills in Jujutsu sorcery. As a result, the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom ended up being divided once again due to the difference in their opinions.
"It's annoying how people fail to acknowledge sukuna's power and say mahoraga and binding vows are carrying him. Like it shouldn't come as a surprise he's winning, he's literally THE STRONGEST sorcerer?? There is 0 plot armor, the series is simply realistic," one fan expressed.
"Sukuna is cunning enough to know how to use binding vows taking the least damage possible," one fan wrote.
"People fail to realise his adaptability and creativity is 2 of the major pillars of him being the strongest," said another fan.
