On September 16, 2024, Solo Leveling season 2 key visuals, featuring the protagonist Sung Jinwoo with his shadow army, were unveiled during the Aniplex Online Fest announcement. While the arcs that will be adapted in the future are still unannounced, the protagonist's attire hinted that the second sequel of the famous manhwa adaptation could feature the fan-favorite Jeju Island arc.
The arc starts from the 100th chapter, and as the manhwa is only adapted till the 45th chapter, this could also be an indication that the second season of Solo Leveling could be a two-cour sequel, which would make the anime adaptation of the Jeju Island arc possible.

Exploring how Sung Jinwoo's attire in the Solo Leveling season 2 visual hints at the adaptation of the Jeju Island arc
The latest key visual for Solo Leveling season 2 featured Sung Jinwoo, the main protagonist of the series, with his shadow army, including Igris, the first high-level shadow he resurrected after getting his powers as a Necromancer, and some other small shadows that were resurrected alongside Igris.
The interesting detail about this visual was the protagonist's attire, which was a long jacket with a hood, that extended to his knees. For the fans who have read the manhwa, this particular attire of the protagonist is from the Jeju Island arc, which could be a hint that the upcoming season could feature the fan-favorite arc, where the protagonist fights monstrous insects, alongside other hunters.
Jeju Island arc premise, explained
After revisiting the Demon Castle and finding the last element to obtain the Elixir of Life, Jinwoo successfully revives his mother from her eternal sleep. After this, he takes some time off as a hunter to enjoy some mundane days with his family. However, things turn upside down, as hunters are getting killed by monstrous ants.
To save them in such an emergency, Jinwoo leaves his family behind and goes to Jeju Island, the epicenter of all this activity. There, he witnesses the atrocity these ants had brought to the world, as they were eating humans alive and wreaking havoc. So, he brings his shadow army to help the other hunters.
The arc is most famous for the battle between the protagonist and the boss ant. After a heated battle, Sung Jinwoo reincarnates the ant as his shadow and names it Beru, which later becomes one of the strongest shadows of the protagonist.
Final thoughts
The first season of Solo Leveling adapted the first seven arcs of the manhwa series in a mere 12 episodes, meaning that the manhwa adaptation is very different from the manga adaptation. However, even though the first season adapted 45 chapters worth of the source material, the Jeju Island arc exceeds a single season count as it starts from chapter 100.
So, this could mean that Solo Leveling season 2 could be 2-cour series (consecutive or non-consecutive), consisting of almost 24 episodes that would start from the Red Gate arc (as seen in the PV trailers) to the second cour starting with the Jeju Island arc.
