Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online season 2 episode 1 began with a brief flashforward into the third Squad Jam, focused on LLENN. A flashback to reality then saw Karen Kohiruimaki, the person behind LLENN, Elsa Kanzaki, the person behind Pitohui, and Goushi Asougi, the person behind M, learn of the third Squad Jam. After some convincing, the trio decided to enter and also add Fukaziroh/Miyu Shinohara to the team.

Focus then shifted to the day of the tournament, where teams like SHINC, Memento Mori, T-S, the Japan Machine Gun Lovers, and more were revealed to be entering. This included Shirley’s team, as well as Clarence’s two-man team. It was then revealed the LPFM were the favorites to win as they arrived. LLENN then split off from the group to approach the leader of SHINC, whom she was set to settle the score with, in this third Squad Jam.

The teams were then sent into the pre-game lobby, where LLENN revealed she got a new P90 and Fukaziroh donned her classic grenade launchers. Pitohui was shown as wearing her full gear from the start, while M revealed he modified his shield so it can be split up and used individually like Pito did in the second Squad Jam. The episode ended with Pito giving a pep talk to the team as the Third Squad Jam began.

This baptism by fire will likely be against a brand new team not seen before in any of the Squad Jams. This will further show just how rusty the group is, putting them in a situation where they’re down from the start.
