My Hero Academia chapter 423 saw Deku's last dash towards the absolute evil All for One to beat him. The protagonist passed the remaining embers of One for All into the antagonist and this released Tomura Shigaraki from the control of the final antagonist.

The vestiges of One for All, alongside Tomura Shigaraki and Deku, punched All for One and defeated him for good. Before passing away, Deku and Tomura Shigaraki had a brief talk regarding the future.

After the climax of the final war, the epilogue for the series started when the third-years of the U.A. High School graduated with their diplomas and Deku's class was promoted to the next year retaining their homeroom teacher Aizawa.

The epilogue also saw the Todoroki family gather for the last time in front of Dabi and they got rid of any kind of regrets. With only 3 chapters remaining, as of this article's publication, the rest of the manga would also tie the loose ends or show the mystery of the mysterious man.

Reactions from fans on the conclusion of My Hero Academia

As expected, the fandom was coming short on words, but the majority just settled for thanking Kohei Horikoshi's magnum opus. This moment gave the fans a chance to share the impact this series had on their lives as it related to a lot of fans. Fans also picked their favorites and praised them.

Deku and Yagi Toshinori (All Might) were fan favorites because they inspired the fandom to never give up and appreciate their dreams. Some fans even related to Deku's characters by sharing a simple dream and following it to the end.

"I was going to make a long post but just #ThankYouMHA for healing my inner child. For giving me closure I couldn’t get I real life and for making me happy in dark times. thank you and goodbye" a fan said.
"Y'all already know but deku's been my favourite anime character period since i got into MHA when i was 12 and a big reason for that is bc i saw myself in him. we're both awkward nerds who are hyperfixated on our favourite shit and he rlly just resonated with me" another fan said.
"Honestly, it's Deku. I just love it when a character believes in doing the right thing so much it brings inspiration to others. In a time where media loves making heroes seem like the bad guys, Deku is just a kid with a simple dream and he never stopped running" another one claimed.

While the fandom didn't hold back on branding the series their best one, they also appreciated some side characters including Ochako Uraraka, especially after the Dark Deku arc speech she gave in front of the masses. Her character development was the spotlight for some fans of the series.

A fan also addressed the rumors regarding the series and was glad that he didn't drop it until the end.

"My hero has broaden my view point on so many things. I love the craft of the show. Even though it wasn’t my first but it is by far the best one for me." a fan claimed.
"Ochaco's always been a decent character in Act 1 and Act 2 (a bit underutilized ngl) but Act 3 Ochaco is genuinely incredible. Tearing down the idea of heroes being gods when they're just humans, accepting her feelings, SUPPORTING OTHERS, etc" a fan appreciated Uraraka.
"I understand the fandom with the weirdos with their weird ass fanfics of the characters. But past that this manga/anime is beyond amazing that if you haven’t watched it or read it I’d highly recommend it. I’m glad I kept up with it till the end." another fan claimed.

Final thoughts

It's interesting to see how the fandom of this series ruined its reputation which led to other fans thinking that My Hero Academia is just your everyday Shounen series with nothing special to offer.

But the series was what inspired the fandom and so much more as seen from the reactions of the fandom. With the climax of Kohei Horikoshi's most cherished work only a few chapters away, it is expected from the author that he would give the manga a proper climax.
