The episode begins with Rimuru Tempest telling the Seven Days Clergies not to interfere, since he has already settled things with Hinata. However, the Clergies want to punish the Paladin's leader for disobeying the will of the lord, Luminous.

The Paladins present at the scene implore the Clergies to show mercy. Renard, however, accuses the Clergies of pitting him against Hinata through trickery. At that moment, Garde plunges his sword into Renard's waist.

It is revealed that Garde was actually one of the Clergies in disguise. Meanwhile, Rimuru gets a telepathy call from Diablo, who briefly explains the situation at Falmuth. He informs him that the Clergies were behind Reyhiem's murder.
