That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3 episode 17 begins with Rimuru formally holding a meeting, where Mjöllmille briefly states the schedules for the Founder's Festival. The merchant reveals that Jura Tempest will have a national launch party the night before the opening ceremonies.

The ceremony will provide special drinks and food not only for the invitees but also for their bodyguards and merchants. A banquet for the visiting royalties will be held, where Shuna and Yoshida will prepare exquisite delicacies.

Mjöllmille adds that the Founder's Festival will commence with a grand speech from Rimuru. The merchant has also planned a play at the refurbished Tempest Theatre to show the audience that Rimuru has taste in art and culture.

The Founder's Festival's second day will kick off the battle tournament at the Coliseum. In the afternoon, the guests will get some free time to explore the city and try a variety of stalls in the town. On the third day, the long-awaited Dungeon will be opened, where adventurers can participate.

Mjöllmille tells Rimuru that Orthrus' combined powers exceed a country's military strength. The Slime feels they must eradicate the organization, but finds out that the group has already been exterminated by Masayuki, the legendary "Lightspeed hero."

The narrative for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3 episode 17 then shifts the focus to Honjo Masayuki, who prepares to visit Jura Tempest with his party. Masayuki's past is also revealed, showcasing how he became a hero.

One day, while returning from work, Masayuki got transported to the Cardinal world, where he confronted a troubling situation. However, he gained The Chosen One, a unique skill, which helped him gain not only fame but allies. Within a year, he became part of the hero echelon.

As fate would have it, Masayuki witnesses a secret slave trade between Ballachia's Marquis Gohsel and Count Braeber while strolling in the hall at night. After being caught red-handed, Gohsel mortally wounds Braeber and tries to pin it on Masayuki.

However, Masayuki's party arrives in time to save their leader. Jiwu demonstrates her power to heal Baeber, while Jinrai threatens the man to reveal the truth. Masayuki feels his The Chosen One skill automatically guides him through a heroic path.
