The preview focused on the condition of Inojin after he was pierced in the torso by Jura. However, it has brought to attention the father role of Sai, who wasn't present with his son.
Moreover, the series didn't specify anything regarding his whereabouts, which could indicate why he wasn't with Inojin, which made his character even more controversial. The preview for Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 14 showcased the return of Sakura Haruno to the sequel series, making her first appearance. She was treating Inojin, who was in a critical condition after Jura pierced his chest in the previous chapters.
Moreover, Ino, Shikadai, Chocho, and Himawari were also present near Inojin for emotional support. However, the only person missing, who should be the first one to appear, was Sai, Inojin's father. Even though Ino wasn't doing anything to heal her son, she was by his side for emotional support, the same for which Sai should have also been with Inojin.

The fandom was affected by Sai's absence during Inojin's critical condition, as many felt that, as a father, he should have been by his son's side. As expected, the fandom blamed Sai's Anbu work because he is the chief of the Black Ops. Another fan commented on how he could still be watching Amado because the outsider was his responsibility after Amado infiltrated the village.
On the other hand, a part of the fandom had other thoughts and stated that he could be interrogating the protagonist because the latter was caught in the previous chapter. It is also possible that he met his son before and had to leave to interrogate the protagonist because he was caught by the shinobi in the previous chapter.
