The Ancient Magus' Bride season 2 episode 14 began with the reveal that Lizbeth Sargant and her group had captured the children of the wolves from the first court.
The episode's focus immediately shifted to the college, where the students were setting up food to grow since the institute was locked down. Lucy and Chise dropped Philomela off in her room. Alcyone then explained Philomela’s aversion to destroying things.
When Philomela awoke from her sleep, she asked Chise why she cared so much for her despite the spying she does on her and Zoe Ivy. Chise responded that Philomela appeared to be in pain and wanted to hear her out if it was what she wanted. Chise and Lucy then left, leaving Philomela confused.
Lucy internally questioned whether the child present at the Webster family massacre was Philomela, saying she needed more leads.
Philomela then received a message from Lizbeth, which was pre-recorded to stop her from running away. This also revealed that Lizbeth has Philomela’s mother and father hostage.
The episode ended with the reveal that two witches Liza Quillyn had hired to track down the book had determined that it was still inside the college.
