With the premiere of Blue Lock season 2 finale, the anime finally revealed the conclusion of the match between the U-20 Japan National Team and Blue Lock XI. While Ego Jinpachi and the players were certainly ecstatic after the win, the one who became the most passionate might not be any of them.

Just as Yoichi Isagi scored the winner against the U-20 Japan National Team in the anime's finale, everyone celebrated the victory in their own way. However, amongst them, Anri Teieri had the most unique reaction as she was shown smiling with teary eyes, indicating her love for both football and the Blue Lock Project.

Why was Anri Teieri so passionate about the Blue Lock Project?

While fans of the series may have forgotten this, as much as it seemed like Ego Jinpachi was the one behind the Blue Lock Project, Anri Teireri was the one who pushed for its establishment.

As revealed by the anime, Anri Teireri loved football and dreamed of witnessing Japan win the World Cup. Thus, sometime after the Japan National Team's defeat in the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup, she proposed a plan to the executives of the Japan Football Union to help the country win the tournament.

According to Anri Teieri, while the Japan National Team had become strong over the years, it lacked the key to win a World Cup, i.e., an egoistic striker. Thus, she proposed the idea of establishing the Blue Lock Project, a training program to create the world's greatest striker.

The business-minded executives of the Japan Football Union opposed this idea due to the possible wastage of funds. Nevertheless, despite all odds and ridicule, she went against the majority of the Japan Football Union and had them establish the training program. Soon after its establishment, Anri Teireri handpicked Ego Jinpachi to become the program's director.

Basically, had it not been for Anri Teireri, the Blue Lock Project may have never been established. No one may have learned about Ego Jinpachi and young strikers like Yoichi Isagi may have never tapped into their potential.

Fans should also remember that the titular match from the anime's second season had a major stipulation. The team that would win was to take over the U-20 Japan National Team, while the other side was to be dissipated. While such a stipulation was scary for Ego Jinpachi and the players, it was even more devastating for Anri Terieri who created the training program.

Thus, it makes sense that she had the most passionate reaction when Yoichi Isagi scored the winner against the U-20 Japan National Team. While she smiled happily over the victory, she could not stop herself from tearing up.

Her happiness was later also projected when she announced a lavish meal for all the players. With such nuances, it can be confirmed that Anri Teieri might be the most passionate about football among all the characters in the series.
