Recap of The Blue Wolves of Mibu episode 6 in brief

The episode began with Nio and Hajime being ambushed by one of the assassins, responsible for the death of an Aizu samurai. His reason for killing foreigners was the entry of opium, which corrupted the hearts and minds of the people. Nio understood the reason for his actions, but they weren’t justified. He attempted to take him on but failed.

Hajime was forced to face a second assassin who entered the battlefield. Although he was a ninja, he was equally skilled. Nio’s opponent forced his head underwater, nearly drowning him. However, Soji rescued him in the nick of time. He also proceeded to kill the Oshu samurai in just one move.

Meanwhile, Nio recovered and asked Hijikata for a real sword. He wanted to stake his life when he battled and improve his swordsmanship skills. Nio and Hijikata prepared to visit Seto, the boy who betrayed Nio and Hajime by relaying information regarding their whereabouts to the assassins.
