The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3 was released on October 23, 2024. The episode saw Jill reveal her true identity before Princess Sphere and the knights of Kratos. The female protagonist then boasted the morale of everyone to fight against the Marquess family by adding the kingdom's imperial soldiers to her army.
The second part of the episode saw King Marquess arrive before Jill with a dragon to take care of her, but fortunately, Prince Hades arrived in time to save her future bride. Despite the pacing being more or less the same as the previous episodes, the drop in animation quality could be witnessed in some panels, suggesting the animation studio might be getting lax with the anime series.
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3: Jill faces off against Marquess Beil as Hades decides to enter the battlefield
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3 is titled The Situation Is Desperate, but as the God of War’s Daughter, I Will Defeat the Enemy with Brute Strength. It commenced where it left off in the previous chapter as the soldiers from Kratos revealed the truth about their kidnapping to Jill and Princess Sphere.
This led to Princess Sphere insisting that they leave her behind as a sacrificial pawn, which Jill didn't like. So, she put off her disguise and revealed that she is the fiancée of Prince Hades. She proceeded by saying that saving Princess Sphere was their top priority and that they would do so by combining their current soldiers with the ones who were trapped by the Marquess family.
Princess Sphere inquired to Jill about her help, because she was a rival to the female protagonist. However, Jill stated that her feelings for Prince Hades didn't matter because she hadn't reached an age where she could pursue a romance with him. Jill then proceeded with her plan and broke the wall of the church's prison, entering another area where soldiers were trapped.
On the other hand, the imperial soldiers of the Marquess family tried to take Prince Hades to another place so that he wouldn't help Jill and her friends. However, Prince Hades took care of the soldiers for the time being as he felt something was off. The battle heated up on Jill's side as she continued caring for the Marquess family's soldiers.
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3 ended with the entrance of the Marquess family leader, Marquess Beil, who was accompanied by a dragon ordered to kill Jill. Jill had to sacrifice her to save the Princess but the dragon didn't attack her and instead bowed down to the ground. This was because Prince Hades, the Dragon Emperor, had entered the battlefield to save his future bride from the Marquess family.
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3: A slight drop in animation quality puts the series in limbo
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3 continued the moderate pacing without complicating the plotline more than was needed. While it was also accompanied by some good news in some other departments, the animation department seemed to lack the finesse that was present in the first two episodes.
The key in this case was how some of Jill's panels looked glitchy and some animation shots looked like pop-up images. Although these defects are indeed not that big, these could be an indication that the production team might have started slacking off. However, everything will be decided when the next episode airs.
Final thoughts
Although The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor episode 3 wasn't a complete mess, the slight details indicated that the series' future might see an animation quality change. However, J.C.Staff is known for its consistent animation quality, so hopes are high for the future of The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor.
