Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269 is set to be released on September 16, 2024, but the spoilers for the chapter have already been released and Gojo's return is still a fantasy, even though the author is bringing back characters that were supposed to be dead. Although the Honored One's soul passed away in the place where his dead ones were present, his return is still possible.

The latest chapter's spoilers confirmed the return of Okkotsu Yuta and Higuruma, both of whom were supposed to be dead. Higuruma's situation is understandable, as he was transported to Jujutsu High before late, but Yuta had transferred his consciousness inside another body, making his survival controversial. This had Gojo's fandom asking for their favorite character's return.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why is the fandom demanding Gojo's return yet again?

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269 commenced from where it left off in the previous chapter, as the main protagonist trio entered the Jujutsu Tech to find Yuta all healed, even though the previous chapter indicated that his survival would be a tough nut to crack.

The reason behind his survival was that Rika kept his body continuously supplied with reverse cursed energy, supposedly stopping it from rotting. This helped Yuta's soul return to his body, making his return, as well as Kenjaku's cursed technique, controversial.

With the revival of a 'potentially' confirmed dead character, the fandom of the series started demanding the return of the Honored One who also died at the start of the Shinjuku Showdown arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, stating how they don't want to face such unfairness, as Gojo's body was completely healed (stitched) as well after his death.

Reaction from the fandom

As expected, due to the controversial revival of Okkotsu Yuta, the fandom was not happy over their favorite sorcerer not returning. It had the fans claiming that the return of the Honored One was a given in the upcoming chapters of the series.

On the other hand, one fan directed his anger toward the author and claimed that it was bad writing by Gege for not reviving the Honored One, even though the return of Yuta Okkotsu happened without any proper explanation.

"I swear he better be coming back, if yuta could then it only makes sense that the GOAT comes back too," a fan claimed.
"Literally makes 0 sense that Gojo would be unable to come back. He will rise!!!!!" another fan exclaimed.
"Yuta got world slashed and his brain took from his body and still came back, Gojo got world slashed, and his body completely healed. All points to better be coming back or it's terrible writing lol," another fan said.
"They also think gege is going to close the mange without even mentioning gojo like bro can yall stop dooming for like 2 seconds," another one said.

Final thoughts

The return of the Honored One was once just a delusion of the fandom in the start. However, with the way Gege Akutami is treating the series as of the latest chapter, it could be considered unfair if Gojo doesn't return.

However, there are a few things that need to be checked before demanding such a thing. Unlike Yuta, whose body was healed by Rika, Gojo's body was simply stitched by Shoko so that Yuta could take over him and fight Sukuna. This point could either make or break the return of Gojo.
