Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 6 marked Sosuke Aizen's return and retaliation against Yhwach. Although Aizen served as the main focus of the episode, Grimmjow's appearance in the final few seconds made him a key highlight as well.

Grimmjow was one of the original Espada and one of the few survivors of that group. During the series' actual run in the early 2010s, his popularity was at par with the likes of Aizen due to his ruthless nature and confident demeanor.

However, it is worth noting that his last onscreen appearance was before 2012. His return in the latest episode revitalized his fandom which had survived for a decade despite his absence from the screens.

Bleach TYBW: Grimmjow marks his return after an entire decade

Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, one of the original Arrancars and the former 6th Espada, was among the most popular characters during the series' original run from 2004 to 2012. His last onscreen appearance was before Aizen's defeat in 2012, leading to a decade-long absence due to both the anime's and manga's conclusion.

Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 6 adapted his onscreen return after being teased in episodes of Part 1, leading fans to rejoice over his first appearance in decades. Junichi Suwabe serves as the voice actor for both Grimmjow and Sukuna. While Grimmjow was initially tied to this voice, Sukuna's popularity has overshadowed Grimmjow’s, sparking minor discourse between Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen fans.

Fan reactions to Grimmjow's return

Fans celebrated Junichi Suwabe's return to the role after a decade, expressing that Grimmjow's return gave them a real reason to watch Bleach. Grimmjow is inarguably one of the most fan-favorite characters in the series, comparable to Aizen and the other captains, despite having much shorter screen time. This led fans to proclaim that the "king" had returned to the anime after an entire decade.

"Junichi Suwabe getting busy with this one🔥." One fan said.
"Bleach is finally watchable again." Another fan said.

Some fans took the opportunity to compare Grimmjow and Sukuna. They pointed out that Grimmjow's character was the one that initially brought Suwabe’s voice to life, paving the way for Sukuna. Many fans hoped for a fight scene focused solely on Grimmjow, especially since the manga did not feature a Grimmjow-centric battle and mainly had him supporting Urahara and Yoruichi.

"Grimmjow walked so Sukuna could sprint." One fan wrote.
"Please Kubo, just one Grimmjow focused fight." Another fan wrote.

Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 6 is scheduled for release on November 9, 2024, and will be titled "The Holy Newborn." Given that Yhwach absorbed the Soul King's spiritual pressure in Episode 4 and gained a new form, Episode 6 may focus primarily on him and the new capabilities resulting from this transformation.
