With fans worldwide waiting for more updates on the One Punch Man Season 3 anime, Character Designer Chikashi Kubota's update indicated that the installment's production is in jeopardy. This information comes from France when Kubota answered a fan question.

As fans may remember, One Punch Man Season 3 anime was announced quite a while back. However, further details about the anime, even including its animation studio, were released much later. Thus, it already seemed like something was wrong surrounding the production. But with no way to confirm it, fans could only come up with theories.

However, that isn't the case now as fans finally have an update about the production from the anime's Character Designer.

Chikashi Kubota's update on One Punch Man Season 3 spells issues with the production

As shared by a One Punch Man fan @DPDM44 on X (formerly Twitter), they had the opportunity to meet with One Punch Man Season 3 Character Designer Chikashi Kubota during an anime convention in France. When they got to meet the Character Designer, they only had time for a single question. Hence, the fan asked him about the upcoming anime's production.

"I know you are under professional secrecy, but is there anything you can say about One Punch Man Season 3? Is the production going smoothly?"

While Chikashi Kubota could not really say anything, he shared that there might be some problems. Given the time limit, that was all that the fan got to learn. However, this could be a sign that the production was having trouble with the adaptation. That said, Chikashi Kubota's update could also be a small internal problem, something normal for an anime studio.

Why are fans concerned by J.C. Staff producing One Punch Man anime?

As fans might remember, One Punch Man Season 2 anime produced by J.C. Staff had several issues surrounding its production. The choreography for fight scenes was too constricted and unpolished, sound effects were overused, and coloring and shading were off. There were many obvious signs that the studio was trying to go cheap while animating the series.

With J.C. Staff again producing the anime, fans are rightfully worried about the production. Moreover, it isn't like One Punch Man is their only anime. The animation studio has many adaptations under their belt like Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5, Honey Lemon Soda, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, etc.

Hence, there is a good chance that the studio is facing a MAPPA-like situation where they have far too much work and will be forced to delay production further. If that wasn't enough, Chikashi Kubota's latest update has further fortified fans' doubts, causing them to worry about the One Punch Man anime. Hopefully, the animation studio soon gives fans an update about the anime, possibly a new trailer or teaser.
