The New Gate episode 2 was titled A Little Partner. The episode started with Shin returning to the town after defeating the Skullface monster. As soon as he entered the town, he witnessed several injured soldiers who had faced the wrath of the Skullface. After a little chitchat, Shin went to the guild and reported that he killed the Skullface, which was a bad decision.

After a little negotiation, he convinced the guild higher-ups to stay quiet on the matter. He later went for lunch and was requested to share a table with Wilhelm the Vampire. Wilhelm was surprised over how frank Shin was acting with him. They later enjoyed the food and parted ways. The episode later showcased a meeting between the higher-ups of the guild about the recently defeated Skullface.

Shin was busy learning about his new world in a library and while he was enjoying a snack during a break, a beast girl stood near him, eyeing his snack. He shared his snack with her and later learned through Wilhelm, who came to pick her up, that she belonged to the orphanage. Millie sneakily informed Shin about a fox that was trapped in the forest and requested him to save it.

The next day, after making a brief visit to Tiera, Shin set foot into the forest and found an injured fox-like animal. He healed it but was then confronted with undead soldiers who stopped Shin from taking the animal. Shin fought the undead soldiers and two fox statues, thus saving the fox-like creature. Later, Shin learned that the creature he saved was an Elementail, a legendary species.

The New Gate episode 3 was titled A Strange Request, as revealed in the last seconds of the previous episode. The title could indicate Shin accepting a strange request from someone, most probably from Millie who informed him about the Elementail.

The New Gate episode 3 could also see Shin finally meeting his support character, Schnee as indicated at the climax of the previous episode. The episodes have finally started to pick up the pace and fans can expect good things from the upcoming episodes.
