The One Piece remake recently released a few character designs and the names of the staff involved in this Wit Studio project. Some fans believe the logo might hint at the roles characters like Imu and Luffy will play in the final battle. The theory suggests that the characters are like chess pieces, each with a specific role in the story's conclusion.
The new One Piece logo features Luffy as the "I" in the "Piece" portion of the title and has him as a chess piece. This has been coupled with the fact that Imu is often seen as a king or queen piece based on the character's silhouette, which means that this could be a reference to the protagonist's role as "The King of the Pirates" as the two sides engage in war.

Explaining how the new One Piece logo for the Wit Studio remake could hint at the roles of Luffy, Imu, and others in the final arc
This theory points out how the new logo for the Wit Studio remake has Luffy as the "I" in "Piece", which is reminiscent of a chess piece. A lot of people on Reddit have also brought up the fact that Imu looks like a piece of that as well, which is interesting when considering that the character has been theorized to be female, thus meaning that she would be the queen of the World Government.
If that proves to be the case and Imu is female, then that means that Luffy could fit the role of the "King of the Pirates" in the chessboard. The theory also points out that the Holy Knights have been confirmed to be eight, which, coupled with Figarland, the five members of the Gorosei, Luffy and Imu, make up a total of 16 "pieces", just like in chess.
Of course, the opposition also has another set of 16 pieces, which is another factor to take into account. There is also the fact that the Holy Knights could be the eight pawns that a player has, adding to the theory, at least on paper.
The nature of Imu in the story
Imu is one of the biggest mysteries in One Piece because even the character's gender is still up for debate. However, elements such as his or her origin, his or her motivations, and the role he or she has played in establishing and ruling the World Government are yet to be explained by author Eiichiro Oda.
Furthermore, Imu seems to have an established relationship with Joy Boy and was an active player during the events of the Void Century. Therefore, it seems that he or she is not only very powerful but has had this prominent position for a long time, making this ruler's origin all the more fascinating to find out.
Final thoughts
While it seems far-fetched, the idea of the final battle in One Piece being played out as a chess game could be something quite interesting to see. This theory also establishes the possibility of Imu having a strong connection with the concept of the King of the Pirates, thus adding to his or her relationship and/or rivalry with Luffy.
