The mystery surrounding Sukuna's final finger has finally been revealed. Following a week's break, spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 266 dropped today, August 16, 2024, and they were beyond entertaining. With Yuji Itadori finally uttering the words "Domain Expansion" and failing to show humanity to Ryomen Sukuna, the pair engaged in an intense exchange of fists.
Moreover, Megumi Fushiguro also regained the will to fight and began fighting back against the Demon King. The spoilers ended with a shocked Sukuna as the following panel reveals what could most likely be Sukuna's final finger tied up in a mysterious place.
Needless to mention, the fandom descended into chaos upon this information being dropped. The mystery behind Sukuna's final finger is seemingly solved but ushers in further questions regarding its whereabouts and status.
Jujutsu Kaisen alarmingly reveals Sukuna's final finger
Before this reveal, Sukuna's final finger was believed to have been consumed by the Queen of Curses, Rika. This is apparently what allowed Yuta Okkotsu to use one of Sukuna's slashes, Cleave. However, given what the most recent spoilers for chapter 266 show, the King of Curses' final finger might still exist elsewhere.
As the spoilers revealed, Yuji was overpowering Sukuna, and from within, Megumi was fighting back as well. With his back to the wall, the Demon King wanted to regain the advantage and desperately looked for a solution. Doing what Gojo did previously, Sukuna managed to reset his Cursed Technique (CT). He dismantled Yuji's gauntlets and was about to open his Domain but stood surprised.
It looked like Yuji was missing two fingers. It is at this point that panels switched and what seemed like Sukuna's final finger was depicted strung up by threads in an undisclosed location.
Jujutsu Kaisen fandom thrown into pandemonium with shocking reveal
What was guessed to be done with has resurfaced and in the most appalling manner— Sukuna's final finger. Previously, it was thought to be consumed by Rika, thus enabling Yuta to use Sukuna's technique. But such a reveal has thrown the fandom into utter chaos as lovers of Akutami do not know where to look or what to do.
"So he was at 19 finger power the entire time," a fan commented.
The fandom has already begun being flooded with theories and possibilities. Before this, it was believed that Sukuna was fighting at full power till Rika was revealed to have consumed one of his fingers. But with a reveal like this, it might render that information wrong, and Sukuna realistically being and fighting at 19.
"Bro nobara gonna use straw doll technique," a netizen exclaimed.
Jujutsu Kaisen fans are still praying hard for a Nobara Kugisaki return. Given how the finger was shown strung by threads in an unknown location, many are speculating that Nobara's time to shine has finally arrived. After all, her Cursed Technique is such that she can establish a link with a severed body part's owner and damage them.
"I think Yuji gonna seal sukuna inside the finger," an X user wrote.
One fan voiced their opinion by stating that this could likely be Team Jujutsu High's actual trump card. Everything said and done, Sukuna has shown himself to be truly unrivaled. Since no one can realistically stand against a power like his, the next best alternative is to lock him away, like it had been done previously, and that would happen by sealing him inside his Sukuna's final finger.
"What does it mean that Yuji is missing 2 fingers?," a Jujutsu Kaisen fan writes.
Considering the current ambiguity of events, fans are noticeably confused as to how and why Yuji is missing two fingers. Sukuna shattered his battle gauntlets through Dismantle, which revealed his hand having three fingers rather than five. This is something that will potentially be answered in the next or coming few chapters.
"Could it be? What yuta ate was not sukuna’s last finger but yuji’s. And sukuna’s last finger is hiding somewhere," a netizen wondered.
Finally, many have begun speculating that what Rika consumed to enable Yuta to use Dismantle was Yuji's finger and not Sukuna's final finger. This could be a possibility worth exploring since Yuji can use the Demon King's techniques now.
So, by that logic, Yuta copied Yuji's technique and not Sukuna's. But then again, it is purely speculation at this early stage.
