The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 was released on October 22, 2023, in Japan. If the prior two episodes were considered set up for Percival's journey, episode 3 is where the plot gets moving in several major ways. From a magic fight to finally having an official meeting with the strange pink and white fox, Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 starts Percival's journey in earnest.
Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 covers plenty of questions raised from the first two episodes, while also opening brand new ones along the way for newer audiences and returning Seven Deadly Sins fans. Future companions are introduced, the evil organization pursuing Percival is showcased, and there's more than enough magic to satisfy people wanting more mysticism.

Episode 3 - many revelations
Percival was last seen in the prior episode having subconsciously awakened his magic when he was about to lose to Pellegarde. In Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3, he gets to use some of his magic against Pellegarde. Percival's abilities include the power to heal himself, enhance his strikes, deflect head-on attacks, and summon miniature versions of himself as distractions.
Pellegarde considered what kind of magic Percival could have, concluding it might be a long-lost category called Hero Magic. Pellegrade's magic is simple: it's a never-ending flame called Pyre, similar to Naruto's Amaterasu. Pyre then clashed against Percival's newfound magic. While Pyre won out at first, Percival was able to heal him and allow him to continue the fight.
The fight didn't go Percival's way, however, as Pellegarde is an experienced mage. Aid comes in the form of Donny making Pellegarde float and then the pink and white fox teleporting both Percival and Donny out of the area following Pellegarde's counterattack. They were lucky, as Pellegarde's counter had the capability to burn Paysan village down.
The fox's name revealed, with prophecies and new quests
The unlikely heroes teleport to the back of massive dragon bones, 30 miles away from Paysan. The fox speaks to the two of them and, after both Percival and Donny freak out at the fox talking, he introduces himself as Sin (secretly Lancelot in disguise) and gets them up to speed with what's going on.
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse episode 3 shows in flashback what occurred with Camelot. A battle with demons caused the entire country of Camelot to be lost 16 years ago. Camelot is considered a myth in modern times but is very real according to Sin. The Holy Knights consider Percival one of the fabled "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" that will one day destroy the world.
Percival himself is aghast by this, disbelieving Sin until he mentions that Camelot cannot be reached by normal means and that he must reach the Kingdom of Liones to reach it and his answers. Donny reluctantly joins them, as he has nowhere to go and Katz and Elba will probably be fine on their own.
Camelot and the Knights' Quarrel
Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 confirms Sin's belief between explanations, showing Camelot itself and the Holy Knights' base in another dimension entirely. Though Pellegarde is late, the meeting continues as a cloaked figure briefs the knights on who the Four Horsemen are likely to be.
They are told to find the future Four Horsemen, given abstract descriptions, and told to kill them before they can wreak their fabled havoc. Elsewhere, Pellegarde and Ironside have a tense conversation that comes to blows regarding Percival being alive and their differing viewpoints on his possible use to them.
Pointing out Ironside is Percival's father strikes a nerve, though the red knight is more than willing to eliminate his son over the idea that he's a threat to the world. Though Pellegarde's arguments on bringing Percival to their side make him pause, Iron Side doubles down on the idea that his son should've been killed.
A hunting contest gone wrong, a new threat captures Percival
Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 starts the 200-mile journey to Liones with Percival suggesting they find some food in a hunting contest. Percival is able to run all the way to Echo Gorge, a massive gorge tainted by darkness, whereas Donny and Sin are forced into traditional hunting. Donny's rationale for keeping their bow and arrow is simple: Percival's archery skills aren't the best.
Donny's aren't any better, as he misses a rabbit and a deer but manages to hit a giant nun praying at a statue of a goddess. The nun, Dolores, is approached by two faeries, Bob and Nob, who frantically relay they saw Percival enter Echo Gorge alone. Long ago, it was a lush landscape full of giants and fae folk but has since been poisoned.
The blame for the gorge becoming desolate and populated by killer trees and bunnies that crave human flesh is resoundingly blamed on the Mad Herbalist Nasiens. Percival encounters the herbalist using a fairy as a guinea pig for experimentation. Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 ends when Percival is knocked out by Nasiens, who says Percival will be his next test subject as Percival freed the fairy.
Final Thoughts
There's a belief among anime watchers that the "three-episode rule" is sufficient when trying to decide whether or not to commit to watching an anime that might run long. Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3 seems to prove it, as the journey officially starts in this episode and plenty of intrigue is laid out for viewers.
A lot of questions are left up in the air for old Seven Deadly Sins fans, such as what exactly happened to King Arthur to make him evil when he was an ally in the original series and why Sin/Lancelot is in fox form. There's a lot of exposition in the middle of Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3, but it goes by quickly and is interspersed with the Holy Knights' perspective on the situation.
It's clear that Ironside isn't going to win parent of the year, given his callous disregard for Percival. The opening spoils that Nasiens is going to be part of Percival's party, leaving the question of how up for next time. There's a lot going on in Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 3, which is good to entice viewers to tune in.
Fans will need to tune in on October 29, 2023, to see how Percival escapes his precarious situation, and if any other Holy Knights or future party members encounter Percival's squad.
