The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3 was released on October 20, 2024. It chronicled a day before the titular Four Knights, Tristan, and Percival's teams set out to find Camelot. Everyone had something to get off their chest or accomplish before heading out, and King Meliodas needed a day to prepare their supplies for the journey.

Although things seemed peaceful, especially when compared to the catastrophic chaos wreaked in the wake of the Chaos in Liones arc. Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3 revealed that even days off have interesting things happen. In this case, the audience saw more of Guinevere than when she premiered in season 1, with her ultimately being kidnapped by Ironside.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3 shows how everyone handles the idea of a new adventure. Percival and Anne thought about the new adventure that awaited them, with Anne reassuring Percival that she would stick with him no matter what. Although this tender moment between the comrades ended with Percival hugging her, Nasiens seemed to misinterpret it as a love confession.

Elsewhere, Gawain failed to seduce Isolde. It would help if Gawain hadn't been in her smaller form and Isolde hadn't been fully distracted by Prince Tristan. The romantic trainwreck continued with Isodle accepting that Tristan sees her as a good friend, even giving her a ribbon, and Gawain went off in a huff.

The romantic trainwrecks and awkwardness only continued in Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3 when Lancelot visited Guinevere to question her. In season 1 episode 19, she was a random and mysteriously clinging girl who claimed to be Lancelot's future wife. Now, Lancelot and the audience get to know her more intimately.

Guinevere's story and importance

Aside from the awkwardness that ensued when Lancelot and Guinevere were alone, including Guinevere sitting close to Lancelot and clinging to him, things got serious once the questions began flying. The first bit of information gathered was that Guinevere is from Cameliard, a small country near where Camelot used to reside in the physical world.

The next few were more important, including Guinevere's magic type and magical abilities. Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3 revealed that her magical type is the Oracle, the rarest of the nine magic types. Her magical ability dubbed "Kaleidoscope" is far superior to former King Bartra because she can see and hear her visions clearly in dreams.

Guinivere's visions are specific: she can only see things based on herself and people important to her. She's been seeing visions since she was three years old, seeing every event that's happened to her until her death at 71. It's a rather suffocating power, however, since she confides in Lancelot that she sees everything including his death and other horrible future events.

Guin's kidnapping and Gawain's threat

Although Guinevere and Lancelot parted ways amicably, with Lancelot even saying they would meet again, Ironside kidnapped Guinevere. Although not a violent kidnapping, as she already saw it coming, Guinevere sent one last message to Lancelot, saying she believed he'd find her.

Gawain had a serious conversation with Meliodas at night. The first bit was about her outfit and how impractical it was since it seemed to be a wrestler's outfit rather than anything practical. Meliodas calmed her by saying that it's designed to grow and shrink with her body and withstand her powers, she won't rip through her clothes like last time.

The more important bit was that Gawain did some digging and realized she was Arthur's niece. She threatened Meliodas by saying there was no real reason for her to help the quest and that she could betray them at any moment. That said, since Maliodas didn't press the issue, Gawain said she'd play her part.

In the morning, the groups gathered to get their assignments from Meliodas. The goal was to find a way into Camelot. The first mission was for everyone to proceed to the town of Wolnack. From there, the teams would split up: Percival's team and Gawain would head to the Fairy King's forest, Tristan's squad to where Camelot used to reside, Lancelot would go alone to search the Benwick area and Meliodas would search for the Giant craftsman Dubs.

Although Lancelot objected initially to heading home, he was reminded that he had sworn to find Jericho and that his parents must be missing him. This waylaid his plans to find Dubs and get a sword to handle his magic. Meliodas likewise told them all to aid any allies they came across since they'd need all the help they could get.

After plenty of goodbyes, including Tristan's frosty one with Meliodas, the group set off. Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3's post-credits stinger shows Meliodas had his doubts about sending his son off and being seen as an awful father despite Elizabeth's protests. Ironside and Guinevere arrived at Camelot, which looked peaceful instead of looking like a broken abyss.

Final Thoughts

Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3, while having the important development of Guinevere being kidnapped, feels like a breather episode like episode 2 was an epilogue to the prior arc. The episode felt sorely needed since the Chaos in Liones arc was so long.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse season 2 episode 3 shows how everyone is coping with the revelations and how the group is dedicated to each other. There are also a few splinter points that may come back around, like Gawain's threat, Guin's kidnapping, Nasien's misunderstanding, and Tristan's complex about his parents treating him like a kid.

While the group is all together to stop Arthur and reach Camelot, things don't always go according to plan with Percival's group. As Meliodas warned, the threats will be greater than ever but so will the friends they meet. The returning Seven Deadly Sins characters were already high during the Chaos in Liones arc, so to see Ban, The Fairy King, and Claudia again would be interesting.
