Fake deities became the talk of the town with the entry of One Piece's fake Sun God on Elbaf, and, unsurprisingly, the fandom has a lot of characters in their mind regarding this title. However, most had thought of Enel even though there's another fake deity, Imu, who's fooling not only a set of people but the entire Grand Line.

Imu could be the same fake Sun God, just like the Elbaf's Sun God, but on another level, as they are the Ruler of the World Government. Moreover, just like the links between the Straw Hat Pirates and Road, there are several points that fortify this claim and prove that the World Government Leader is claiming to be a fake deity.

One Piece: Exploring Imu's personality as the fake Sun God

One Piece chapter 1128 showcased the Straw Hat Pirates trapped inside a LEGO house as they realized that they were on Elbaf Island. As they planned their escape, a mysterious personality, with the face of a deer, approached them, which was titled the Sun God by the local giants.

One Piece chapter 1129 revealed that the Sun God was fake, as it was Road, one of the New Giant Pirates, disguised as a mysterious personality. He was doing so because he was adamant about not joining the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.

Similar to Elbaf's Sun God, there are several fake gods in One Piece like Enel from the Skypiea Island and Doflamingo from the Dressrosa Island. However, the most accurate example in this case would be the leader of the World Government and the one who sits on the Empty Throne, Imu.

Imu could be acting as the fake Sun God before the entire Grand Line, considering how everyone is aware of their authority but has never seen him. Moreover, just like Road, Imu also keeps his face hidden, meaning that they could also be someone that the Straw Hat Pirates encountered in the past.

Analysis and Final Thoughts

This article was more so an unsaid opinion rather than a 'theory' because the fandom was already aware of Imu's authority over the world. Moreover, some points fortify the claim of this article that Imu could be a similar fake God, like Road.

First things first, there was a relationship between Road and the Straw Hat Pirates (through the Straw Hat Grand Fleet), and this relationship is also present between Luffy and Imu (Imu's possession of a giant Straw Hat, which could belong to JoyBoy, the previous holder of the Nika fruit).

However, it's still recommended to consume this article with a huge grain of salt because all the things explained in this article are 'speculations' derived from the points showcased in the series.
